I also read that undersoil heating at the OS would cost in the region of £250,000 to install. Yesterday, david Gold tweeted that undersoil heating would cost clubs £1m to install. Seems a little excessive???

The whole pitch at the OS will need digging up anyway to put in proper drainage, irrigation systems and all the substrates for a pitch and then relaying with a mixture of artificial and hard wearing grasses. The £250k is probably just the add-on cost of installing undersoil heating on top of the costs of digging up and relaying.

The Stade de France does not have undersoil heating because it is built on contaminated industrial land. There was a gas works there and the land has potentially explosive pockets of methane.

Indeed it is. The difference is that they had the foresight to install retractable seating!

Just had a read of that. Thing that concerns me is the SPV - didn't Captain Scarlet have one of them

Hammers, athletics hammers that is, cannon balls and javelins thundering down on undersoil heating doesn't sound such a good idea. How do they deal with this?

The grass that's there was always going to be torn up after the games. It's not football pitch size.
I thought that was well known.

you'd have thought they would raise the pitch at the Stade de France to install undersoil heating, the reason the pitch is raised at the Olympic Stadium and creating a **** view from the front rows is cos there is radium and thorum and other toxic **** buried under the stadium. I wonder f they will have to raise the pitch even higher at the OS to install the heating ? If they'd even consider doing the work ? They may consider it too dangerous.
