West Ham supporters back move to Olympic Stadium, insists club vice-chairman Karren Brady
West Ham vice-chairman Karren Brady claimed that the supporters who had seen the detailed proposals to move from Upton Park to the Olympic Stadium were “100 per cent” behind the switch if their 99-year lease tender to become the anchor tenant succeeds.
Brady said she had shown scores of supporters on an advisory board, representing a cross-section of the club membership, the detailed plans for the move, the finances underpinning the optimism for a switch from the 35,000-seat Upton Park and the opportunities to grow the club and the area.
She said having West Ham at the 60,000-seat Olympic Stadium would attract an extra million visitors a year to the Olympic Park and bring a global profile to the stadium. Importantly for the supporters, such a move would bring about reduced ticket prices, even though the club’s owners were injecting around £30 million a year to underpin the club’s finances.
“They are persons of substantial wealth,” said Brady of David Sullivan and David Gold, noting that they were personally committed to the club having taken on £100 million of debt – an amount since whittled down to £70 million – and were fully behind the proposed move.
Brady said all of the supporters have had to sign a strict confidentiality clause before hearing the plans but claimed “all of them have agreed with what I have presented, there hasn’t been a single dissenting voice”.
She was slightly frustrated that the plans could not be divulged to the wider fan base until a decision had been taken.
Brady said the club’s Olympic Stadium proposals would work with football in winter and athletics in summer and that the football sight lines would not be an issue.

Pop, you missed off the last bit as below.
Bet Barry Hearn's interested in the last sentence.
'Brady said the club’s Olympic Stadium proposals would work with football in winter and athletics in summer and that the football sight lines would not be an issue.
“We believe this is the best move for our fans and supporters and makes attending matches more affordable. There is a chance to grow revenue and increase financial stability and is the only way for us to move to the next level,” she said.
She said the stadium offered twice the spectator capacity and much greater corporate hospitality options.
West Ham are one of four main bidders for the Olympic Stadium with a decision expected on successful “anchor concessionaires” due at the end of May.
US sports operators and concert promoters could also be involved in the bidding process. It is understood the Mayor of London, whether that be Boris Johnson or Ken Livingstone, will sign off on the successful applicants.
West Ham have permission for any future move from the Premier League but the club had not yet sought permission from the football league.
What about everyone who expressed their opinion via WHU's view, few of them were dissenting.
I presume no SAB meeting with Brady is scheduled in the future ?
Tara Warren in the mail: West Ham claim that moving to the Olympic Stadium is the only way that they will be able to develop in to a major player in English football again.

Vice chairman Karren Brady said following that victory that they would consider introducing retractable seating so fans were not far away from the pitch.
The club have made no comment on whether that remains their stance for their tenancy application due to confidentiality rules.
Warren thinks West Ham stand a good chance of being successful with their bid - the LLDC announce their decision on May 21 - and believes the move will be beneficial to the club's fans.
'It's the best move for our fans,' she said.

Again? I must have missed that!
What Planet is Karren Brady on? 100% of fans behind the move is ridiculous!!
The last time I looked the KUMB Olympic Stadium poll showed over 60% against - admittedly there were only about 750 responses, but I would think you could say it was pretty representative.
It's time a proper survey was done of the Season Ticket holders and Members and see what people really think!
Why would I be on your back ?
I declared that I did not vote in a post on here the monring following the SAB meeting .I don't comment on how others voted though - yourself included .
But, and this is the key , I hope anyone reading this thread can now see that regardless of whatever anyone in that SAB meeting said , Karren Brady is prepared to lie in order to achieve her ends .
The floowing comments have been attributed to Karren Brady by the Daily Telegraph , if they have been reported accurately she is a liar .
Brady said all of the supporters have had to sign a strict confidentiality clause before hearing the plans but claimed “all of them have agreed with what I have presented, there hasn’t been a single dissenting voice”.

Brady said she had shown scores of supporters on an advisory board, representing a cross-section of the club membership, the detailed plans for the move,
1. Detailed plans
From memory , 4 sort of sketches / mock ups were shown .In no way could they be interpreted as "detailed plans" .They showed , again from memory , a hotel at one end of the OS and double or treble banked corporate boxes at the other .
2. Not a single dissenting Voice ?
Absoutely a lie .Not an error, not a failoure to recollect events , but a lie .
3.100 percent behind the move ? If she is referring to the infamous show of hands in the SAB meeting, again , this is another lie .
someone from the SAB needs to contact the Olympic Park Legacy Company now klnown as London Legacy Development Agency and tell them the vice chairman is lying about what they were shown and how many people are really in support of the move. It would be nice to see someone in the media to have the balls to speak out against the lies being told but I don't see that happening
As the club have renaged on their promise to poll & listen to fans, WHU'S VIEW are carrying out a poll at the next two home games. Not run by the Electoral Reform Service as we'd proposed to club (cost £10,000) but it will be the best we can do.
Clearly feelings are running high - all are welcome at meeting tonight in Supporters' Club - 7pm.
It'll never happen mate. Our views aren't relevant as you can see by the b*llocks Brady is spouting at the moment. Even if they did, it wouldn't matter as they'd just ride roughshod over the findings and carry on regardless.
I think I may have mentioned before this lot are a bunch of liars (she is G&S mouthpiece no doubt...). F*ck me even the Brum lot were right about them.
I thought (and that is not a dig before I'm laid into) the SAB vote would be twisted by them to suit their agenda, but not to this degree. Disgusting.
Even more set now on telling them to stick the OS up their arse when we move.
To be fair whether its right or wrong her comments are not about all fans but those at the SAB meeting, typical inaccurate headline.
No you cant say the KUMB poll is representative of the fanbase as a whole, it's only representative of those people who voted and who also happen to use this forum (less than 5% of the forum membership). Similarly there is no way West Ham View's poll can be guaranteed to be representative, there is a good chance that those against are more likely to be motivated to stop and vote than those against, it's just human nature.
The club know the negativity around the place right now isn't just down to BFS, all this OS stuff if also adding to it.
The present board do not care and will be happy to take to OS, they may say they'll only take it if it's a World Class Football Stadium, but I think we all know that won't happen.
Now Gold saying they can't show any plans until 21st May, after the decision to award the rental of the stadium!
Nice I've got plans too, but will the OPLC pay ?
Tara Warren from the club attended WHU'S VIEW's meeting last night and said that Brady was misquoted in these articles.
She said that Brady didn't say there was 100% support from the SAB, implying that journalist(s) made up that figure. She said that Brady said somethng on the lines of that she knows fans are against the move and understands why. Strangely, this was not picked up by the journalists at all, even though 'fans oppose move' might have seemed a bigger story than everything rosy with the implication we all want to go.
Shall we say, not everyone present believed the club's version.
That is in fact a known polling factor, antis are always more active than pros whatever the matter.
Calm down, that is not what she said, its just a crappy headline/thread title
Still stretching the truth a bit apparently but she is certainly not claiming everyone is behind it.
