Doesn't Sound goodJust caught a news clip on London News saying that most of the performed music will have to be played recorded for the opening & closing ceremonies because of possible dodgy weather and the shape of the stadium. The musicians union has described the situation as "Shameful"
Only in this country. You couldn't make it up.
Re: Doesn't Sound goodStorm in a teacup, it's not unusual to pre-record backing tracks for major events like this as technically it's quite challenging to do a live performance in the round in a building that big, it's not like a concert where all the audience is in front of the stage and you have a few stacks of speakers.
Re: Doesn't Sound goodBodes great for atmosphere then....
**** the OS, I wouldn't be disappointed if it got burnt down.
Re: Doesn't Sound good
What has a getting the sound from a bunch of musicians in the middle of the field of play out to 80,000 people round the edge of the stadium got to do with the noise and atmosphere that 40-50,000 football fans could generate. It really is a pointless comparison.
Re: Doesn't Sound good
Indeed it's more or less the complete opposite, the musicians need to radiate sound outward to the extremities while the crowd generate their sound in the extremities. It's a technical difficulty not anything intrinsic of the stadium.
Re: Doesn't Sound good
we can only hope, that or alky ada blows it up
Re: Doesn't Sound goodor we could always nuke the fu***ng place of course
Re: Doesn't Sound goodthe sound quality when I was there for the run the other week was excellent via the PA system.
Re: Doesn't Sound good
Did they play Chariots of Fire?
Re: Doesn't Sound goodnaturally
Re: Doesn't Sound good
Then I wonder why the musicians don't just plug into the PA system ?
