Mr_Andersonn wrote:This was only put back by 8 weeks so I assume early July the decision will be announced. Contracts should then be signed by the construction team in October.
If this is the case then this allows roughly 3 months between the successful bidder being announced, a consltation process taking place, plans being drawn up and agreed by all parties, and then the tenant signing the lease. Sounds a little unikely unless the final plans are already in place and ready to be signed off!

From RevUpminster on Skyscraper City:
I went today and it consisted of a 5/6 small plans and some very helpful staff. The 80,000 existing capacity is a gross figure and the seating capacity is more like 72,000. The majority of the 12,000 lost seats come from the upper tier by screening off the seats behind the tv screens in an almost straight line to turn the oval seating into a rectangle. The seats will remain behind some sort of hoarding for future use, away football supporters will be segregated and will sit in the lower south west corner (5% of seats). For FA cup (15%) they would take part of the south west upper tier. the south west corner is also where the coach park is. The ticket office will be built onto the plaza. There will be hospitality for over 2000 with some facing onto the pitch and other facing towards the city of london. More hospitality could be provided on the east side but any tenant would pay for that. The toilets would be rebuilt from the current figure of mostly ladies to more men. The existing lighting towers would be removed and the frame holding the roof strenghtened and extended to cover the seats. new lights would be placed under the roof so there would be no light polution. 93 turnstlies would provide access to the island. a new 6 lane community running track would be provided inthe south west corner between the stadium and the greenaway. They have planning permission for 10 concerts a year but want 12

This is strange - Those are plans for converting the stadium for football use, but the award has not been made yet and three of the four applicants are not football related....
I don't see as the LLDC could release plans of that nature without appearing partisan....
I wonder if the reporter is an incompetent and has omitted to mention that there are conversion plans for each separate applicant ?

Why have we included the current design on our kids shirts and other advertising if that's not what we will see when we play there? I thought 10% was the Premiership requirement.
brownout wrote:But when they find they can't fill the seats with West Ham fans can you see our owners turning down income from selling more to away supporters?
Er Yes.... Isn't that the idea of larger stadiums, to sell more seats.
Pop Robson wrote:Didn't see the LLDC mentioned on that post ?
It wasn't but the plans are supposed to be those of the LLDC displayed at Stratford library last weekend.....
The report really isn't a good one, that's a big problem with this entire matter, people who aren't really up to conveying information so as it retains it's entire content jumping in with both boots never the less....
Then others take it aboard as if its kosher, nothing missing or added and gospel....
I really don't see as it's possible for the LLDC to release plans for conversion of the stadium to football use before the award is made, unless that is that there were separate plans for conversion of the stadium for each individual applicants proposed use - But guess what, the report makes no mention of anything like that whatsoever, so we're left guessing.

For ages wouldn't be an issue as that would be generalised, but to present a plan for football use now, during the award process would be too partisan for it to be possible.
Unless they presented a similar plan for each and every applicants prospective use.
They have to at least appear to be even handed in the matter.
After the 20% season ticket discount debacle is there anyone left who trusts the owners to hold the promised poll and listen to fans after we are awarded the stadium - and to turn it down if the fans say no?

No, because one of our chairman said there would be no poll and there was never a promise to turn it down if the fans said no.

The club is a business and like with all businesses the board decide on matters such as whether to move the business or not....
Fans decide whether to go to games or not, and that influences the boards decisions on things....
It isn't a democracy, there aren't votes or polls...
The board decides having considered all manner of things including very highly the propensity for fans to go to matches or not.
So why are the club saying they will hold a poll?
They have given different messages about holding a poll for the last 9 months.
Yes it is a business, although a highly unusual one due to the very small number of customers who will 'switch brands', but the club aren't saying this. They are saying they'll listen to the fans and that they'll hold a poll, but few of us trust them to do so.
