Kiev Olympic Stadium

tonights game England v Italy at the Kiev Olympic Stadium will give us an insight into what the Olympic Stadium at Stratford might look like. We will be able to see how they coped with the running track to turn it into a football arena. No doubt Gold & Sullivan have looked at this stadium and others to get an idea of what needs to be done.

Well the new club store could sell claret & blue binoculars (10% off for season ticket holders).
Or we can all have tv screens put on the back of seats (only a small subscription to WHUTV).
Could put mic's around the stadium (not where the empty seats will be) and speakers near the pitch so the half filled stadium can either get behind the team or (trying not laugh) intimidate the apposing team.
As for the home and away supporters trying to out sing ect. suppose we will have to rely on some twat and his smart phone and
put it on on you-tube and watch listen to it the next day esp if your the other end (a bit like four bus stops away on the no.115 bus).

Bow-locks to the Olympic site and us moving to there.

I may or may not be renewing my S/T in 2014 we will wait and see..

Not a fair comparison as the Kiev stadium runs parallel to the track on the straights, whereas Stratford arcs away from the track at the sides, so we'll be further away.

It's not rely a valid comparison at all as we dont know what form this seating over the track at the London O/S will take. Atmosphere doesn't sound too bad though.

We've only been banging on about fish eye lens views and how they grossly distort the actual view for about two years, therefore it's truly astonishing how we still keep getting half wits posting them saying how bad the view is. Not difficult was it.

How can it be a fish eye lens when in is a render not an actual photograph?

What silly architects, they provided a render that exaggerates the viewing distance

You can all squabble as much as you like about which lens is used for photos.
From what i saw on TV last night, i would not pay money to see normal league games in a stadium like that.
You make exceptions for a cup final or international, but week in week out ? No thank you very much.

A very sensible view , and one, I suspect a great many people will take .

Of course, all of us saying "told you so" will be of no consolation when the club is ****ed all ends up as a direct result of the decision to forceably relocate without adequate consultation .

You've made an incorrect assumption too.

If you go back a little, you responded to a post by someone claiming it was a photo taken by with a fish eye lens. Ok you did not confirm the error, but you did not correct the poster. You just gave a tacit confirmation when you responded along the lines of "amazing how those sort of photos still get posted". You even added one of those cute headbanger emoticons we all love for extra emphasis.

So in my opinion, you allowed an erroneous post to go unchallenged because the opinion, whether based on an error, backed you own view.

The only view that is of any pertinence is the actual view through eyes at the Olympic Stadium...

As I haven't been to the Olympic Stadium to look for myself I don't know whether I'm happy with the view....

I am not helped by those who have been to the Olympic Stadium to look for themselves because they're far from unanimous, some say it's a bad view and some say it's a good view....

What I do glean from that is that the view cannot be awful else there would be no such split.
