They are cheaper from the outer areas as fans will only have to go as far as Stratford and not buy connecting tickets for the underground.

I agree that it will not be cheaper for fans from the surrounding areas or those coming in from the Upminster-Barking line. They will now have to take two lines as opposed to just the district, unless a Barking to Straftford train can run on match days.

They will be cheaper for fans from outer areas, whose national rail line stops at Stratford - which might not be a large percentage. If you come from the west that isn't practical, for example in theory you could change at Clapham and change again at Willesdon Junction; that would keep your fare down but add a fair amount of journey time.

The key thing is that relocating will be better for some fans, worse for others, but for the vast majority the journey time and cost will be much the same.

Pretty sure it will be a huge percentage actually. Especially if the C2C runs to Stratford (no idea if it will yet).

If you come from the west you will most likely use the underground now and continue to do so in the future so it will not make much of a difference. In fact I would suggest (this is just my opinion) that the Jublilee and Central lines are better and quicker lines than the District line.

Sadly, there is no real way of making the journey form the west any easier or cheaper but the vast majority of our fan base is not in the west so that cannot really be a consideration expected of the club.

Crossrail is coming ! Opening 2017/18 apparently. It will run two branches between Shenfield or Abbey Wood to Heathrow or Reading . 12 trains an hour during peak times.

When Crossrail is up and running, it will cut my journey down to about an hour and a half, at what cost who knows..

I meant little that the club can do in terms of moving to make it easier for you lads but fair on everyone else.

Crossrail is of course an other huge plus for the transport links in the future. I do not think many/any will argue the accessibility side of it. It will be a much better location for us to be based logistically. Historically and practically speaking, maybe not so much, but we will have to wait and see won't we.

Yes, we will.
By that time though it will be too late to do anything about it.

Just putting this idea out here..

If removable could be perfect to fill the 'gap'? However not sure just 12mph is fast enough to keep up with James Collins' hoof-ball though..
