Do you have a source for this? My memory is that the club approached the committee that were responsible for selecting and building the stadium and were told that they would be required to put in £100 million but have no say in the design. I thought it was confirmed that the committee just didn't want to deal with West Ham and a formal bid was never submitted.WestHamIFC wrote: talks were held in 2006 leading to West Ham making a formal bid submitted by Nick Igoe in January 2007.
What was the plan had we bought the OS outright?

I've no inside knowledge, but that was my understanding of it as well. Essentially, we were never taken seriously

Just a few!:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/olympi ... -2006.html
"In January 2007 they [West Ham] made a formal offer.."
http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/legacy/david ... ier_l.html
"Despite an offer from West Ham, outlined in two letters to the ODA in December 2006 and January 2007.."
"These were reiterated in a more formal offer letter from West Ham's financial director Nick Igoe on 17 January 2007.."

(subscription only now but I had posted it here: http://kumb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3 ... 0#p3885099)
Mihir Bose's in-depth and extensive account of events makes several references to "WHU's commercial offer" of 2007..

- Not an explicit reference to the offer/bid but mentions West Ham's "interest" and the fact that football was formally rejected in Feb 2007 in favour of the 25k Athletics only plan.
