The £3 includes stakescreech wrote:Cheers sammy, I had £20 on it so £60 is better than a kick in the plums
Do I get my stake returned? Or is the pot just split into £3 return to every £1 staked?

Re: Official Betting Thread
Jonathan Brownlee tomorrow in the Triathlon.
Make no mistake, Alastair should win this with relative ease. If he's anywhere near the front at the end of the cycle, then he'll demolish the field.
But, he can sometimes struggle to recover if things go against him. If he gets crowded out of the swim, if the bike streches him out, if things don't go according to plan, then he can sometimes let himself slip.
Jonathan is a tad more resilient against such things.
Alastair should win it, there should be no hiccups, but we saw a lot of fallers on the bike in the women's race and it flawed a couple of decent competitors.
Jonathan @ 11/4... perhaps combine in a double, just as a bit of a punt. No more than a tenner.

Re: Official Betting Thread
why dont you just lay Alistair Brownlee at 1.57 on betfair? Not that far off the 11/4 on the brother winning it and you get the whole field running for you.
£20 lay to lose £11.40 or something similar.

oh and if you were going to back him Johnnie, you get 4.4 (7/2 ish) on betfair.
I still dont get why so many people avoid betfair when the odds are far better (even with commission).

I agree, but many don't use Betfair.

Bergen Hammer wrote:Haven't been in here for a while, but I thought I'd tip you fellas about where my money is tomorrow.
Norwegian Premier, 'tippeligaen'..
Stabæk - Brann, Brann to win @1.90 bet365 (might be higher elsewhere, I dont know.)
Stabæk is financilally stripped this year and are mostly fielding very young players, and find themselves predictably rock bottom on the table. Brann has had an increase in form lately but do concede to much when playing away. Will be the second game after selling Austin to Leeds (important DM) but after what ive read, the manager will try a constilation that I personally believe will be very balanced and offensively sound tomorrow. Huseklepp's first game after the return to Brann from his transfer from pompey (walked out on 200k owed, and wasnt even payed at Bari either, credit where its due) and this Brann team should be strong enough to win this game imo.
0-4, hope some of you followed

I always have a look in here daily, see if there's any tips going. I enjoyed the read above and bought into it, had a score on it at 5/6 (with PaddyPower) Cheers Bergen.0-4, hope some of you followed

If you can take the patrioism out of betting, there are some mega odds out there.
Pendleton was a very short odds on. Her long term rival, and world champ Anna Mears was 2nd fav @ 5/1!
That is beyond madness. 4 riders left and they giving that away.

I think Russia to beat Spain in the basketball at 2/1 is a good shout. They've been very impressive so far, the best side apart from the US. Spain haven't really gotten going at all but with players like the Gasol brother they're very dangerous. Will be a good game but fancy the Russians to shade it.

I can't wait for the football to start as I'm losing shed loads on the horses in close season.
People say only bet on what you know, if going by football bets then I know more about football than horses

I dont think i matterd too mutch if you knew anything about football last season in the prem, there was some strange results,,,, i won loads on wigan over the last half dozen games,,,, think the only 1 i missed out on them was when they stuffed newcastle, i backed newcastle as i thought wigans run must come to an end against them,,, think it was 5 nil or somethingscreech wrote:I can't wait for the football to start as I'm losing shed loads on the horses in close season.

Re: Official Betting Thread
To be fair I had almost zero interest in the prem last year and only really used bankers in my bets from the prem, whatever league we are in I tend to read up on the teams around us and have a bit more knowledge for my bets and there is twice as much interest then
