Francis Ngannou knock out of Overeem last night, just brutal. A fight for the heavyweight title awaits.

He's quite clearly done at that point, there was no need for what followed, hell of a punch though!

Good to see old Horsemeat Overeem get blasted. Yet another PED cheat that has no business getting in the Octagon.

I think in real-time it wasn't all too bad, slow motion or pictures like that can quite easily distort the reality of a moment, split second stuff. Anyhow, it's on...

Woah - reading Sherdog this morning, looks like RDA pushed Lawlor's sh×t in. Wasn't expecting that

Holly Holm fights Cris Cyborg tomorrow. Holm is very much the underdog here.

Steroidborg will win handily. Holm has the better boxing - Cris has her everywhere else.

Hopefully, Khabib will bring the entertainment. 3 fights in 3.5 years is pathetic for a fighter of his calibre, but when he's on form, he's a joy to watch.

Carlos Condit vs. Neil Magny. Condit is off the pace here. Yep, Magny wins UD.

Don’t know much about Cynthia Calvillo vs. Carla Esparza. Esparza, the underdog, wins. Calvillo had a good first round but didn’t do much in the second or third.

Marc Diakiese vs. Dan Hooker. Diakiese, a Brit from Doncaster, looks in good shape. Wow, Diakiese goes for a takedown in the 3rd and Hooker slips on a guillotine choke to win by submission.

Edson Barboza vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov. Should be good, striker vs grappler. Khabib takes down Edson halfway through the first round and proper beat him up. Second round much the same. 3rd round, ouch, painful to watch. Khabib all the way, UD 30-25, 30-25, 30-24.

Main event: Cyborg vs Holm. Two very tough ladies, Holm fighting smart but Cyborg looking stronger. Great fight. UD to Cyborg 49-46, 48-47, 48-47.

Tony Ferguson vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov is confirmed for UFC223 in April. That’ll be a tasty one!

Tony has plenty of ways to win, but can he implement them? No-one’s had their way with Khabib yet, and El Cucuy’s no wrestling phenom - so he’s going to have to light The Eagle up on the feet, or we’ll be looking at 26-0.

UFC 220, I'm going for both Stipe and Cormier to keep their belts; Stipe with a knockout, Cormier with a submission. Both very interesting fights, I think the experience of Stipe will bode well against Ngannou, whilst Cormier's wrestling will knacker Volkan in the later rounds.

That went as expected.

Bellator, though - Rory vs Lima was a f*cking war. Rory is from another planet

Yeah, both Stipe and Cormier on another level to their opponents really. Now they're fighting each other, seems like a difference in size too far for Cormier, though he was undefeated as a heavyweight (none as good as Stipe obviously). As for Rory MacDonald, well he's an absolute warrior. For this to happen and still win, well...

Image

And credit to Lima too, showed he's amongst the best welterweights in the world and his comments post-fight were excellent:

I’ve gained even more respect for him after a fight like this. Any other fighter would have quit. I’ve fought guys that quit between rounds because of my leg kicks, that has happened before, but he continued. That was his night. I can’t wait to fight him again...

Anyone see the card last night? The Yoel Romero knockout of Rockhold was scary. The uppercut was from hell
