With regards to the dislike for Lewis, I think he is being judged a little unfairly based on what you get from the media. Who do you think spends longest with the crowd after the Silverstone GP on the main stage and then spends ages signing autographs and taking selfies with the crowd? He even brought 15(ish) members of his family with him on stage this year so they could experience what the atmosphere is like after a British GP. Totally different person to the one you see on the podium doing the necessary for the team, and he really seems to come alive in this situation.

Also guess which Mercedes driver walks through the factory in the morning taking time to talk to everyone, and which one walks through with his head down ignoring everyone. This information actually surprised me as Bottas used to help the Williams team put up the hospitality until he got the drive seat.

No surprise Palmer has lost his seat. Shown very little to warrant his place in F1.

Love Suzuka as a circuit and these cars are spectacular around there. Lewis' qualifying lap was stunning. Looks like Lewis has got it in the title in the bag again. He completely deserves it too.

If you want a really funny F1 podcast to listen to, subscribe to For Formula 1's Sake - they review every race, they know their stuff yet have a proper laugh with it and take the piss out of whoever they fell like, not PC and that's what makes it great. Highly recommended.

A more interesting race than I’ve seen for a while. Is that Verstappen in the lead? Still to stop though.

It is and yes he hasn't stopped yet. Decent track this, not like the Monaco BS, F1 needs real tracks where you can over take.

To go from 16th on the grid to leading for a few laps albeit he hadn’t pitstopped is pretty good driving. 5th now after stopping.

Bolt doing the post race interviews, The Yanks spending some money.

Lewis pretty certain of a 4th world champ. The negative opinion of him on the BBC amazes me. We don't like successful people. Lewis is 'different' but to suggest he is not one of the best ever is stupid.

His treatment of the 'make as wish' boy yesterday was touching and totally not required of him.

Saying all that i can listen to Toto Wolff all day what an accent - 'get to the choppa'

Comfortable win for Lewis and only needs 5th place in Mexico to seal F1 title for 4th time. Tough luck on Verstappen to overtake Raikkonen on last lap to nick a podium spot only to have a 5 second penalty take it back from him, very harsh on the flying dutchman.

Wasn't very harsh but should it be allowed is another question. Max was off the track without question.

When they showed the in car replay during the race it was obvious he cut the corner, there was no way he could have passed KR without it. My initial reaction was "Will the stewards have the balls to penalise him?"

Bloody love Max. I can understand why the stewards made the decision but I wish it was not taken away from him, he took a risk almost on the grass. Still a top drive though

Still don't get the lack of credit Lewis gets, you are all praising Max. BBC is full of Lewis hate. Why do we dislike British winners. He is approaching the best ever but people hate him. Verstappen broken the rules pain and simple, you could argue the rules are wrong, but that is not Lewis's fault.

The usual master drive by Lewis. Bottas must be feeling crushed, he is finding out he isn't even as good as Rosberg I'm afraid.

Max really is the entertainer.

F1 shooting itself in the foot with that decision.

Agree BILR.

The way it was handled was appalling. During a race these decisions take laps to decide, this took no time at all, like they were just gagging to whack him with a penalty.

Either way, he is without doubt the most exciting driver in F1 right now.

Well done to Lewis, yet another great drive. I still can't stand the bloke though.

I don't mind Hamilton , there are worse people in sport.

He seems a bit of a bellend though, his dress sense, his child like understanding of politics, his ****ing stupid accent but he's good at driving , so it matters not really.

Red Bull get that engine right and some reliability, we will see quite how good he is.

Vettel takes pole in Mexico ahead of Verstappen. Hamilton is third on the grid but only has to finish fifth or higher to win the drivers championship.
