No presenter at the BBC should be earning that sort of money, IMO. I don't believe that it's such a unique and rare talent that it's worth so many, many times the pay of a nurse, doctor, or someone in the emergency services.
If the commercial channels want to pay huge money to bring in 'names', let them. This is not why we fund the BBC, just as we don't fund the BBC to make itself into a third-rate gossip mag.
