Australia are showing in this run chase what an immature one day side they are

137/5... now they should still stroll here from here, but where is the responsibility being shown bar Head. Chasing 4 and over and you see Stonis trying to end it quickly with 4 wickets down. Why? Just play some proper cricket.

They are basically showing in a one day side what we were showing in the test team.

Probably the best result we could have hoped for after the start. I was expecting to hear a lot from Travis Head' mum who is a friend. That said he did deserve a ton.

Interesting to see South Africa are being hammered at home by Australia in the 1st test.

Interesting to see the Aussies are still behaving like utter cocks. Lyon charged by the ICC and Warner being investigated.

Seems KP has hung up his bat.

At least Slacking Student can stop asking for him to be recalled now.

One of the best batsman to play for England in my lifetime. An outstanding talent, that I was lucky enough to see live a few times.

As a bloke , a bit of an ****hole, but hey, no-one is perfect.

Not the Ashes but it involves the Australians

Australians admit pre-meditated cheating
Australia's Cameron Bancroft has admitted he tampered with the ball during the third Test against South Africa - and captain Steve Smith says he knew of the plan in advance.

Television footage showed Bancroft take what he said was yellow tape out of his trouser pocket before rubbing the ball.

The 25-year-old said after play he had been charged with attempting to change the condition of the ball.

Smith said it was a "big mistake" but added he would not stand down.

He said the team's "leadership group" had spoken about it and "thought it was a way to get an advantage".

Organised cheating from the convicts? I can barely believe it.

I know, it's just not like them as a team.

Is "leadership group" a way to dissolve blame?

Lehman didn't know apparently.

"It is the first time it has happened."

How come we can play SA without it resorting to barging and dressing room scuffles?

Shameful lot aren't they?

I was listening to Jim Maxwell on this, and TBF, he was pretty gobsmacked.Seemed to think there's no way the coach wasn't involved, and it's not beyond a possibility that Smith might step down as captain....How's this gonna sit with the upcoming IPL ?

Lehman is a vile man. Of course he was involved. Typically cowardly of him to send his players out to apologise while he hid in the dressing room.

If Bancroft has been ball tampering and is found to have been (which is surely a foregone conclusion as he has admitted it) then he will get a ban. If Smith is found to be complicit (which is surely a foregone conclusion as he too has admitted it) then he will be forced to resign as captain.

Well, at least he should, and in any other test nation he would, but this is the convicts we're talking about, and this team of crims seem worse than most past Aussie sides when it comes to the less salubrious side of the game.

Agreed. He was happy to up the hatred on Broad two Ashes back. He always promotes in your face cricket.

"he hoped Australian crowds would target Stuart Broad so viciously that "he cries and goes home". "

After being 1 - 0 down SA are fighting back and the Aussies don't like it. Bet they sat down and thought how can we get quick wickets as a team?

"I saw an opportunity to potentially use some tape and get some granules from the rough patches on the wicket and I guess try tried to change the ball condition."

Tape? The consensus is sandpaper....

I guess try to change the ball.

Wriggling, lying, bang in trouble.

Both Smith and Lehman have big problems.

I am watching on Sky and I just cannot believe what I am hearing, they are cheats and admitting to it, poor old Bancroft has been hung out to dry, but at least the wider world will see them for what they are, it will be a long long way back from this for them. Lehman deserves everything he gets from this.
