when i first came to 'ouston the only airline flying the route direct was b-cal.

i think it was a 707 (coulda bin a 727) but it was packed like sardines for 10.5 hours. when the stewie (they weren't called flight attendants in those days), had the meal/drinks cart in the aisle you couldn't use the toilet....

THAT was a ****ing nightmare...

went back to england via the big apple on a 747. 3.5 hour lay over but it was comfortable .....

sod that...

know what ya mean big fella !!!

Any news from the West Coast & Vancouver Rich ??
Bobby,
They were chucking the 'promotional seat pads' that some bright spark had decided to give to each ticket holder . . .

And, no news yet about any possible game with the Whitecaps this summer . . .

Neither has been confirmed. Although the All Star game seems to be a shoe in, as its being reported everywhere.
The Vancouver thing has gone quite so i don't know what to make of that

I don’t think Fulham, Chelsea, or Celtic played any other games in addition to the MLS All-Star game.

Talking of Celtic there is a strong rumour that they are playing a pre-season here in Atlanta around July 12th

Not confirmed, with absolutely no details forthcoming from anyone connected with the Whitecaps.
I can't get hold of anyone from the club this weekend (Seems like their PR and media contacts are all away for Easter) so I'll try and call again next week and see if the Vancouver match is going ahead or not.

I'll post any info I get ASAP.

Oh dear, our game is imploding, isn't it? :(
You'd get a lifetime ban at UP for doing that . . .
Not if it was at that scale.
.. if it was one person slinging a frisbee at one of the players, it would result in a ban and rightly so.

I remember that, got to be a contender for worst promotional item ever.

"I know we have not scored yet, but let go ahead and give everyone a nice round "frisbee" shaped seat cushion as they walk in. I am sure no one will be tempted to throw it if we do score"

Does anyone know if West Ham will get a ticket allocation for this game and, if so, can we get tickets through the club?

The reason I ask is that I've had a mate who works in marketing for the Detroit Ignition MISL side try and get me tickets and there's nothing doing. Most of the tickets have already been taken up by the season ticket holders. There seem to be a few tickets for sale through some of the agencies but, the starting price is $400.
