4th June 2008 Sky Sports....

A host of Premier League clubs are tracking Austrian hit-man Roland Linz, skysports.com understands.

The likes of West Ham, Middlesbrough, Newcastle and Fulham have all scouted him in recent months and are now set to step up their interest.

They will all be playing close attention to his displays at Euro 2008 - where he will lead the line for co-hosts Austria.

Up to five clubs were in attendance to see Linz smash home two goals in Austria's warm-up against Malta last week and he could now be nearing a dream move to England.

The Sporting Braga star has been in fine form this season in Portugal and will be looking to expand his growing reputation as he spearheads the host nation's attack this summer.

Linz, 26, scored 11 league goals for Sporting and is now hoping to impress in the coming weeks.

A spokesman for agency FN Sports, told skysports.com: "There has been interest in Roland from the Premiership and a number of clubs were watching him again at the Malta game.

"But he is focused on the Euros at the moment and we will see what happens after the tournament.

Alan Curbishley is looking to inject some fresh talent into his Hammers squad this summer, and he has been told he has around £20million to invest whilst the transfer window is open.

And the former Charlton Athletic manager is hoping his old friend Sir Alex Ferguson will help him out by letting him have injury-riddled France international striker Louis Saha for a bargain £4million.

Not only this, but Curbishley is also looking to steal ahead of Newcastle United and Sunderland in the chase for Northern Ireland international Jonny Evans and land the defender for £6million.

A Good Bet

West Ham United are willing to allow Bobby Zamora to leave. The forward missed most of last season with a knee injury. Fulham, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Barclays Premier League, have expressed an interest in the past and will be looking to bolster their forward line after the departure of Brian McBride.

West Ham have released Nolberto Solano. The midfield player joined from Newcastle United a yea

Gudjohnsen prefers West Ham over Newcastle

Published Date: 07 June 2008
By STAFF REPORTER
NEWCASTLE United might as well forget trying to sign Eidur Gudjohnsen from Barcelona after the Icelandic star made it clear where his prefered destination would be.
Told he has no future at the Spanish giants, the former Chelsea and Bolton Wanderers forward has been linked with a move to Newcastle United.

However, West Ham appear to be in the driving seat to secure the player's signature after he told Catalunya Radio where he would rather play next season.

Upton Park is the striker's choice ahead of St James's Park.

Speaking to the radio station, Gudjohnsen said if he was to leave Barcelona and went to the Premier League, then it would be to West Ham and not Newcastle.

His main reasons were because of his close friends, who live in London and his relationship with West Ham's Icelandic owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson, who has spoken to the player about his ambitions for West Ham and how he would love for him to be a part of the Hammers future.

He said that Barcelona have 'given him permission' to leave and that his agents are soon to start talks with a Premier League club in regards to his future.

Hammers manager Alan Curbishley has tried to persuade Gudjohnsen to come to London's East End since last year.

If the player has a prefered destination other than Newcastle then the Magpies will rightly dismiss any interest in the player.

Ecuador striker Carlos Tenorio is finally hoping he will get a move to England this summer.

The 29-year-old has long been keen to seal a move to the Premier League and on more than one occasion he has been very close.

Now Tenorio, based in Qatar with Al Saad - the same club Mauro Zarate came from, is again hoping that he will finally get his wish of a move to England.

"I know that there is interest from several English teams in me because they have heard that I have scored more than 100 goals in Qatar," he told Ecuagoal.

"But I have to wait for what the officials of my team decide because they have told me that the want to renew my contract.

"I am waiting for a team to make an offer to Al Saad and if it's important for them and for me I would like to have the chance to live a new experience."

Reports in Ecuador suggest West Ham, Wigan, Manchester City, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bolton and Blackburn Rovers could all be interested.

Former Lilywhites boss Martin Jol made a ₤4million bid for the England under-21 international two years ago, but the Dutchman’s then-Hammers counterpart Alan Pardew rejected the offer.

But with plenty of options in central defence and wage bill in need of trimming, current Irons manager Alan Curbishley is willing to let Ferdinand leave.

Ljungberg in Roma rumour
Hammers reportedly offer midfielder to Serie A side

By Nadia Carminati Last updated: 8th June 2008

West Ham United have offered Freddie Ljungberg to Serie A side Roma, according to reports emanating from Italy.

Ljungberg's agent has previously rejected reports suggesting The Hammers were planning to pay-off the player to let him to leave the club.

However, fresh rumours claim West Ham are keen to sell the Sweden international just a year after he signed at Upton Park from Arsenal.

But it is suggested that Roma are reluctant to match West Ham's reported asking fee of €3million (£2.4million).

Ljungberg made 25 league appearances for West Ham last season -

Bullard set for shock Cottage exit

Jimmy Bullard could be set for a shock move to West Ham or Aston Villa this summer after Roy Hodgson reportedly decided to invite bids for him.

Bullard returned from injury in time to play a key role in Fulham's amazing escape from relegation last season and was expected to be the focal point of the Cottagers' midfield under Hodgson.

However the former Blackburn boss, who likes his sides to play a passing game, is unconvinced by Bullard's qualities and is prepared to let the fans' favourite leave for around £3million, according to The People.

West Ham and Aston Villa are already believed to have made enquiries about the 29-year-old, while a move back to the North-West with Bolton or former club Wigan could be on the cards.

Hodgson is looking to add more skill to his midfield, with West Brom's Zoltan Gera and Palermo's Marc Bresciano two of his top targets.

WEST HAM have emerged as favourites to land Reading midfielder James Harper.

Middlesbrough looked to be leading the chase for the 27-year-old ace, but Hammers boss Alan Curbishley now appears to be in pole position for the former Arsenal youth player.

And the Londoners may still try to make it a double raid by coming back in for Nicky Shorey, who is keen to leave Reading.

Harper, who is still under contract at Madejski Stadium, has not asked for a move, but manager Steve Coppell knows he faces a real battle to try to keep hold of some of his top stars following relegation from the Premier League.

A switch to Upton Park, as opposed to the north east, would be more appealing to Chelmsford-born Harper.

Reading, though, would not sell him on the cheap and would demand at least £3million for a player who has made 305 appearances for the club since moving from Arsenal for £400,000 in February 2001.

Tottenham have stepped up their interest in West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand and are on the verge of sealing a £6million deal.

The 22-year-old, who has been on Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli's wanted list for the past two years, has told friends he is planning to make the switch.

Spurs are desperate to strengthen their defence because of captain Ledley King's injury problems and they have set their sights on Ferdinand after another target, Richard Dunne, indicated he will stay at Manchester City.

Ferdinand has been a member of West Ham's first-team squad for five years and was hugely impressive in his first season in the Premier League in 2005-06. Cavani move green light

Palermo have confirmed that Edison Cavani could be allowed to leave on loan.

The Uruguayan is reportedly a target for West Ham, although Torino are one of a number of teams keen to keep him in Italy.

The South American forward is tipped for a bright future in the game but Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has conceded a temporary switch may be in everybody's best interests.

"I am considering whether Cavani can go to speak with another club," he told Studio Sport. "If he was to find little space at Palermo.

"But, in the future, Cavani is destined to become one of the best players in Europe."

Torino, who are also tracking Manchester City's Valeri Bojinov, are keen to start talks with the 21-year-old.

From Football Rumours -

From a reliable source in Brazil expect a samba revolution at Upton Park. Due the arrival of Kia Jarachoobian in the Hammers scouting staff they will sign three off the biggest talents of Brazil. Midfielders Renato Augusto (Flamengo), Guilherme (Cruzeiro) and Lulinha (Corithians, and dubbed the new Ronaldinho) are all lined up to sign.

Andrei Arshavin to the Hammers. £10 mill.

So Newcastle will however sign Matthew Etthrington from the Hammers and Andy Johnson from Everton.

Well don't you just love Football Rumours! great if it's true though.

Today's standard

Although his form has been more inconsistent since, Spurs are convinced he can thrive alongside Jonathan Woodgate as a central defensive partnership.

West Ham have previously indicated they are willing to listen to offers for Ferdinand with manager Alan Curbishley under pressure to cut the Upton Park wage bill this summer.

The move will be another sign of Spurs' active work in the transfer market, having already secured Luka Modric and agreed a deal with Barcelona for Giovani dos Santos, while John Bostock will join from Crystal Palace once his fee is decided by a tribunal.

However, Spurs look likely to miss out on another Spanish swoop after Alvaro Negredo, of Almeria, admitted he was not interested in a move to England.

The 22-year-old, who finished as the Spanish club's top-scorer last season with 13 goals, said: "I don't think the time has come to make the step to the Premier League."
