Savio - in general

Re: Savio - in general
Can I pass another thought.
Z&C were only in the job 4 months and were still assessing the playing staff, they didn't know the answers to their questions yet.

Has the side (injuries apart) changed much since Dec?

Interesting comments, but do we know if it's true
That we do not know - we can only hope it's not trueChuck D wrote:Fiddy
I disagree.
Because:
A - I am in no doubt whatsoever that Bellamy was being hawked well before the window opened. That would seem likely
B - If Nani/Zola doesnt have a list of potential replacement players already for each position, they are not doing their job. I'm sure they do - but having a list and getting a player is nothing like the same thing
C - In reality, there was never any intention of spending any of the money.

Libero
Of course having a list, and getting a player are removed from each other.
I would suggest though that if a player is totally unobtainable, they shouldnt be on the list!
I can only imagine some of the lists that people might end up with.......

Re: Savio - in general
Now Savio's first (partial) season is over, what are the expectations for him to do next season? Anyone expecting him to establish himself in the team? I think there could be another season of adjustment while he physically matures.... assuming he does physically mature a bit. Either that or he learns to start winning a lot more free kicks.

Not enough depth to change the squad around much since Dec. IMO, with the injuries I think Zola changed it around as much as he was able to, bringing on young players, might not have been his personal choice, but did not have many options available to him really.Chuck D wrote:

Seems a bit unlikely. Seeing as they had chosen who to get rid of - Faubert, Mullins, Ethers, Davenport - and who to keep?

Re: Savio - in general
If Chelsea miss out on Kaka then that acquisition could be his AC Milan team-mate Alexandre Pato and will offer £38m for the 19-year-old striker.
And we thought we paid over the odds for Savio

Serie B playoff final tonight - Livorno v Brescia.
I hope Brescia win because I remember Savio wanting to stay to help them get promoted.

A very quiet news day and they felt they had to put something on the o/s or they read these forums and felt they had to put some positive spin on the Savio signing.
Either way the quotes from Zola look very old ones.
