you can use either american or euro style 2 prong in most outlets here. 3 prong look like this: \ | /

no slitty-eyed rice muncher jokes on the 3 prong outlets, ok gentlemen.

*edit* forgot. everything here is 220v so you won't need a step-down converter, just one of those all-in-one plug yours in the back and select the proper shape prong deals.

It's going to be a busy weekend for me! I am trying to wrap up work today, packing tonight, going to see my local club play Burnley FC tomorrow night in a friendly, then a morning flight to Vancouver BC before the 11 hour Pacific Ocean fly over to Beijing! I hope people are still at the hotel when I get there in the early evening (flight arrives around 4:15pm on Monday.) :)

Why bother mate, you'll be the only 20 or so people in the ground anyway... You might not want to wear any loud clobber in case you stand out too much you know how twitchy those chinky coppers tend to be !!!!!

that's the socket in my apartment. notice the top 2 prong socket is rounded to fit euro plugs and it also has two thin slats to fit the american style plugs. remember: china makes (and copies) all the world's electronics, and quite a lot of them get used here.

yes, i know i need to do some cleaning. i'll let the wife do that while i'm in beijing. :raver:

I have arrived back in the UK (suitably tanned) despite grief at Gatwick. Trust me to be on a plane next to one that is making an emergency landing! Chaos!

Unpacking and repacking will now begin...

Bobby...your starters...

More arriving tomorrow and will be perfectly packaged and kept cool in one's suitcase - away from temptation.
Happy now?

Right... just to clarify to all punters.

You will be met by an English Speaking Chastours Agent just after baggage reclaim...holding a West Ham Badge sign... and be escorted to your Exec Air Conditioned motors. All transfers have a free bar aboard (compliments of my goodself) including water and soft drinks.

The transfer should take around an hour...you will be given local information and contacts during the journey.

Check - In should be easy...just give over your card details for any extras (I'm not bloody paying for them aswell 8-) ).

I will need your passports to collect tickets so do not hand them in...that is the reason you have sent them scans.

Make sure you collect a special card from reception when you arrive which will have the hotel details in local squiggle...just show this to any cabbie and they will understand where you are staying

Any last questions ?
