So it was probably crap.. never mind we haven't changed regarding promising youngsters in our business approach just yet.
Im not totally sure, but isnt there a rule that says that you have to pay for players anyway (even if they let their contract run out) if they are under 24?

It is entirely down to the selling club. If they are happy to let the player go for free (which happens quite often as a goodwill gesture with young players), then no fee is due.ekavall wrote:Im not totally sure, but isnt there a rule that says that you have to pay for players anyway (even if they let their contract run out) if they are under 24?
Otherwise the two clubs have to agree a fee or failing that it goes to Tribunal.

Did anyone else see the Upson England interview?
Kept banging on about us having new investment and Zola strengthening the squad.
Said it was the best year of his career.
When asked if todays development mean that he doesn't have to be sold for the books to be balanced he said something like "I can't know that for sure".
Sounded positive in general though.

Just passing the info on from someone who reckons they are ITK, that we are looking at another 2 Italian strikers, apparently from Serie B.
Andrea Caracciolo and Danielle Vantaggiato (sp).
Don't know if they are any good or not or whether it's true

My Italian friend knows Andrea Caracciolo well, and he's a great talent, similar player to Luca Toni apparently!

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread '09
Caracciolo is not that good. He has always been a nearly man. He has talent but can't ever seem to use it. He had a good season or two at Brescia and got in the Italy squad. He also had a good start at Palermo, but that seemed to decline. Other than that he hasn't been that good. We had him at Sampdoria, who had been chasing him for ages. He signed and promised us great things...but it never really worked out, and we sent him out on loan somewhere...
Wouldn't be that great of a signing IMO. Maybe as back up and cheap...better than Tristan and DDM though.

I can't see either of them being anymore than a loan striker with option to buy that will fill the 4th striker spot.

Should buy Beckford rather than them 2Welling wrote:Just passing the info on from someone who reckons they are ITK, that we are looking at another 2 Italian strikers, apparently from Serie B.

As for signing someone who thinks he is too good for his club and has never played higher than League 1, not too sure.
He will also not go too cheaply and will want a decent wage.

Tevez will be joining Man City.
My Man City mate told me about this last week, common knowledge among them all, apparently.

I was at Old Trafford last Tuesday with work and was told by a top face there that he will be signing for them and that they are just ironing out the fee.

Salt and pinch of. We're still waiting for their Lucas Neill exclusive to pan out.
Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread '09
To be honest Tevez is an idiot if he signs for Man City.
No champions league, he will be going backwards, should of joined Liverpool or Real Madrid, but even thats a step back.
