If we sign Bates it will be for Mullins/Kovac as a defensive midfielder &, Not for the right back spot.
But he would be seen as a utility player.
West Ham are dragging there feet because they still might go for Kovac.

Thats what I'm told, also told Zola wants signing in early for pre-season. But of course as we all know it don't always work out like that.
This info comes straight from the training ground!

£1.2m? Madness. Madrid are a club run by clowns.
More likely the link/paper are run by bullshitters.

Odd one that...
Looked like a lively player on the US tour, left to get what seemed like good experience... then leaves club.
Strange

Redknapp is always going for players he can't get, hence the Barry transfer.

Apparently we have a buy-back option.. so it could work in our favour.

its just harry bull-crap to get the fans on his side, even though there is no hope in hell of the player signing he will always throw his hat in the ring to make it look like he has made an effort before signing an unkown african

We let him go on a free transfer (contract of 3 years).. I heard we have a buy back option for around 500k if he comes good. Might just be nonsense though.

On widdowson
I thought he looked like a decent prospect, looked like an Ashley Cole sort of left back.
So haven't got a clue why he was let go.
What i do know.... is Matthew Fry looks a lot better than what he did so maybe thats why!

can you put a buy back option on an out of contract player?
i guess we did as long as we agreed to no tribunal to get a fee for him

So it was probably crap.. never mind we haven't changed regarding promising youngsters in our business approach just yet.

From the People:
And Redknapp wants to offer Paul Robinson a return ticket to White Hart Lane... less than 12 months after the keeper was packed off to Blackburn.
 Presumable for more money than they got for him. Gotta love Wheeler Dealer Harry :arry:
