Our future manager is... Avram Grant

Re: Our future manager is... Avram Grant
we knew he was our manager weeks ago.lets hope he does well for us.we could have done better could have done worse. But why a 4 year contract?? its too long.i would have liked to seen a 2 year with a years rolling contract, the same hodgson got at fulham.
Re: Our future manager is... Avram Grant
I have a good feeling about this, don't know why but instinct tells me he will steady the ship. He won't be mr nice guy but he will be respected. I have more confidence that when we play teams like Blackburn and Notlob we will be able to give them as good as they dish out instead of trying to play in triangles and get booted off.
I really hope we can stick behind him even if we play a bit more boring and in mid table mediocrity, I will be happy with that. Another repeat of last season no thanks :raver:

This may have been explained elsewhere but what was the long delay in announcing all this about? We knew days ago so why has confirmation take so long?
Not dodgy I hope!!

Pompey had him on gardening leave? Waiting to see what was going on with Clarke? Waiting for confirmation of his work permit? Just a few things that spring to mind before considering it suspect.

grant was on his holibobs[/quote]
I heard that but I'm not sure what that has to do with it. We aren't holding a press conference for some time so the timing of his holiday seems irrelevant. What's more, being on holiday hasn't stopped Benitez negotiating a massive pay off from Liverpool.
Is the delay reallyjust down to Grant being away?

I'm quite pleased about this. Hopefully now the manager is the chairmans choice he will be given time to work with the team and not sacked if it immediately goes wrong.

I can't even begin to say how underwhelmed I am about this. I have a lot of Pompey mates and though they liked his bit of passion none of them are sad to see him go and didn't really rate his managerial style, tactics or substitutions. Sounds perfect us.

Re: Our future manager is... Avram Grant
I think Avram's appointment is about as good as we could have hoped for. As for Hughes and Mclaren...no thanks...what did they ever achieve? The others in the pool were from lower divisions and therefore unproven. Let's be realistic in our current position we have done well I think.
Throwing logic out the window for a moment....I would like to think that the coming season will be the beginning of a turnaround for WHU as the last few years have been abysmal and we all deserve something to cheer about. :raver:

there must have been a large massage with all the extras after that game!!
Re: Our future manager is... Avram Grant
Glad we sorted it reasonably early.
Reasonably pleased that its him, but its the change in playing staff that will make the difference. Please, Avram, get the team some width!

Re: Our future manager is... Avram Grant
So if we are in 18th place in January, Avram will be our new DOF and Pearce will be our new manager. Psycho Claret and Blue Army. :raver:

Re: Our future manager is... Avram Grant
Doesnt Kumb go into meltdown at times like this?
millions of people trying to post etc.
I think it kind of sums up the feeling of most as being eh, alright Avram it is.
dont get me wrong I hope he does well but it doesn't fill me with excitement...
maybe it will when we see what signings he makes
