Re: Its Hoddle
Was it not confirmed that he had left for Italy yesterday?
This article suggests that he is still in London.
Still smacks of the usual dross and, despite the fact that I agree they have undermined him, G+S cannot be held responsible for the crap prior to their arrival.
As for the transfers - given their price, nto much more to be said. Sadly, it's not as if Zola or Nani seem to have done much better in identifying potential players for rb, lb and forwards...
Bit of a nothing article really, except the Hoddle section. I do not care that he was Spurs. He played the game brilliantly and stylishly and England were not poor with him in charge. I would be happy enough for a trial 6 games and then see what happens.

Re: Its Hoddle
I've heard that if Zola goes, for a temporary/to end of season replacement it's between Hoddle and Venables.

G&S kept Zola so as not to upset the fans, that hasn't paid offsutts07 wrote:As so called 'fans' of the club, SullyGold MUST understand that this will be the most unpopular thing they could possibly do??

Re: Its Hoddle
Brooking would be ideal but is he not still employed by the FA? I personally am not against either Venables or Hoddle coming in short term to show what they can do.

Not sure about the FA thing but they owe us after Ashton. I'm sure they won't miss Trev for a few weeks anyway.

Re: Its Hoddle
He's a good manager in many ways, his teams play a good style and I think he's tactically astute.
Unfortunately we all know about his fatal flaws. These don't make him the sort of manager to come in and inspire a team in the short term, rather the reverse I suspect.

Got to be a load of bollox, shirley? If true then shows how out of touch with the fans G&S are. Suspect most would rather go down with Zola than stay up with Hoddle.

Re: Its Hoddle
Every other paper has Zola staying.
I don't want Hoddle, the way he calls the players 'boy' really grates me. His comments on the disabled are unable to be forgiven. The man is a 24 carat nut job. If any change Curbs to the end of the season and then review it.

Mourinho
"I don't like being in Italy"
Jose Mourinho sparked speculation about his future on Tuesday on the eve of his side Inter Milan's Champions League quarter-final clash with CSKA Moscow by declaring he was unhappy with Italian football.
Straight swap I think, Zola for Jose
I apologise to UTJ now, as I know your fed up with Zola replacememnt threads, but I couldn't resist

Re: Mourinho
Given the list of people queuing up to turn us down I'm sure he'll be here in a flash to spend the odd £2.5m on aging bargain basement players.
