No. That's what Tottenham believe they could get for a new stadium and that is a combined deal with shirt sponsorship. Existing stadiums never earn the same for naming rights as it's harder for them to shift their original name. To many, The Olympic Stadium will always be The Olympic Stadium. Companies know this and won't pony up as much as a result. These facts are crucial.

You're correct, and I don't doubt that the figure will be less if we got it, not least because our current appeal to sponsors quite simply isn't as strong as Sp*rs, but it would still be another...urgh, despise this phrase.....revenue stream. Our club is currently in great debt and it's restricting who we can sign and thus having a very real effect on how the team goes on the field. I'll cling onto anything which looks like it might accelerate the lowering of our debt....

Larry, have you not ever been tempted to put a pillow over his face while hes sleeping. I have a brother in law who happens to be my best mate who is a spurs supporter we grew up as kids together, i persuaded my West Ham supporting sister to marry him, with her cooking i thought he would have been poisoned by now..

AT ALL COSTS. no-2} why is us moving into the O.S. such a bad thing, with cheaper tickets i believe we would sell out most weeks, and slowly over time we could start to compete in the top half of the table, and as for the running track yes i hate the idea of that as the only time i went to the old wembley i never returned as i hated it, but i don't think it will be quite as bad as that and maybe over time something can be done about it
mate, while I admire your enthusiasm i have to tell you that if you hated the old wembley, you will hate this more. The distance for watching is no nearer and will b e the same every bloody week even if they remove the running tract one day. You never returned to Wembley and my fear is that many will go to the O/S a couple of times and never return. Where will that leave us?

Does anyone know when our PR charm offensive will start? After a week and a half of Spurs pushing their bid and rubbishing ours, West Ham have done nothing. Surely with 3 days to go until the final submission, we should be reminding the public why our bid is a better option? It is annoying me that we haven't used the media to fully explain our plans.

i think one they have better and more pressing things to sort, and two, probably can't afford a big presentation as every penny needs to be used on more important and pressing issues

To prevent splintered discussion we're going to call time on this gargantuan thread sometime tomorrow and direct you to the new Olympic Stadium thread/poll here: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128486Shortly after we'll move this thread to the Hall of Fame forum (where it will remain indefinitely) so that any content/posts required for reference purposes can easily be found. I'd like to wind up by thanking everyone who has contributed to what has been a fantastic thread and a pulsating read throughout - especially those who have provided valuable information for the benefit of their fellow supporters. Whatever the outcome of our Olympic Stadium bid, one thing will remain intact - West Ham United Football Club, the reason we're all here after all's said and done. Wherever we end up post-2014 - be it at Stratford, here in Upton Park, in the Premier League or League Two - all that really matters is the boys on the pitch and you lot (oh, and some £80million but that's a discussion for another day). Anyway... make your ways over to the new thread... In case you missed it up there (or simply can't be arsed to scroll up), here's the link again: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=128486Cheers, The Mods

I don't know what I think about this any more. Although I still do think it is in our best interests to move to the OS, my fears are that our club is going backwards, not forwards and should we nominated as the club with the bragging rights to the stadium, my fears are that we will be in the third tier of English football by the time we can move in

With our current press control we seem to have at the moment given the debarkle of the Grant is sacked...no he's not, yes he is routine, I think we should let the Spuds do all the PR and feed of the negative publicity they seem to be attracting from all avenues, our PR would probably end up saying something like ..." WHU will take on the OS, rename it to Free Porn stadium, wipe out all Orient support and then go bust as we have not really got the funding in place to rennovate it"
