Can we add Berbatov to the list of potential signings.
No doubt he still has roots in Essex/East London from his bagel munching days. Intelligent player and only 31 so could get two good years out of him.

Yep that's right, infact i'm pretty sure he started his summer holiday weeks ago. Hasnt been in the squad or any of the training photos, it's the last we've seen of him i think.Hainault Hammer wrote:I'm pretty certain Carew only had a one season contract anyway, and there's no way on earth it will be extended
A strike force next season of Cole, Vaz, Baldock, Maynard + one other should do us, the other being a proven goal scorer at a high level.

He'll be off to some German club and make a few bob into the bargain.

Adam Johnson will be looking for first team football, and we can afford his big wages it's the fee that we would struggle with would the owners have the guts to spend £10m on him?

Re: Summer 2012 Transfer and Rumours Thread
Nothing wrong wit keeping Baldock on as a super-sub or send him out on loan to Championship side.
Everything wrong with selling him now straight away after only being with us for a year. The lad will come good, still so young too.
It's one thing shifting out older players, but Baldock hasn't even had a decent run in the side yet...

Former favourite Cole tops Allardyce wish list as Hammers look for staying power
And Cole is not the only former Hammer who could be on his way back to east London as the club target Nigel Reo-Coker and Kieran Richardson

I'd love Joe to come home him and Vaz Te would be great I reckon. Wouldn't be so keen on Reo-Choker though. Bad blood, and he thinks he's a lot better than he actually is.

If Aston Villa can spend roughly the same amount on bent alone, then in order to secure our long term premiership status I don't think those signings are too out of the question, especially for a club with a potential annual turnover of around £90m.hammer the hamster wrote: Blimey, the Gullivans will need to shift a lot of dildo's for that lot.
So which of our dildo's will we let go? Carew is a cert!

Rumour has it that Lille are only paying £25k/w for his loan period with the bin dippers picking up the rest. We could try and get him on a deal like that.Jedi Al Khalaas wrote:isnt cole on 90 grand a week at liverpool ? how can we afford that?

I know that you know him or someone who knows him pretty well.
How does he feel about not getting much game time. Not going to the Euro's and in my mind with more game time he would have been going in front of Walcott and/or Lennon who have pace and not much else.
And if they sign Hazard or one of those, he's going to get even less game time.

Joe Bennett from Middlesborough. England under 21 left back. Always looked good when I've seen him play..
Couple of Prem Clubs interested but he's kind of under the radar I guess.

Re: Summer 2012 Transfer and Rumours Thread
Standard cliches 'oust. You always want to play but gotta respect the managers decision.
His biggest problem this season is his lifestyle. He's always out on the lash, always getting spotted in clubs etc. He was seeing Katie Price for a little whilewhich speaks volumes.
If he was prepared to move to a lesser club, one not in Europe, it'd be up north, probably Sunderland, but the fact is virtually every club wants him. His options when he left Boro included Spurs, Liverpool, Atletico Madrid and Man U had inquired about him as well. Benitez tried to sign him about 3 times when he was at the Bin Dipper's. He went to City because they paid the 7 mil for him right away rather than wait 6 months for his contract to expire, which is what everyone else was doing.
He's just out of our league. I seriously doubt we could even afford his wages.

Cheers mate. But Bridge did the same, hasn't played a lick and I know that it's taking care of your family but Bridge will have enough money with the percentage of his transfer fees alone not to have to worry about that bit. So what does every footballer want that has money ? To play. And Bridge hasn't and his wages have priced him out of a move if he won't take a pay cut. Now Johnson who I think has tremendous talent, will rot on the bench or in the ressies or playing a bit here and there. And won't be going to the Euros, playing on a big stage and is going to be further down the playing list after Mancini spends big again. Dzeko, another who has suffered. Gotta wonder what makes these lads tick, plenty of time for parties and such after they finish a very (relatively speaking) short career.
I am gobsmacked sometimes. Milner is another although by virtue of playing in the qualifiers and being a bit versatile will go with England but lately can't get much playing time. You just gotta wonder sometimes.
