Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
I finally got my Renewal Pack today - it includes a letter referring to the fact that the Club has 'become aware' of 'an incentive to reward long-term loyalty of season ticket holders, who commited to renew for five consecutive years, to receive 20% discount' this was published as part of the 2009 Season Ticket Renewal Pack.
They still plead poverty and make the offer of a 5% discount for the next four years!!!
There is still no mention of the 20% discount which you can get if you phone up and ask for it - I find this unbeleivable - what about the thousands of long-term fans who do not follow KUMB and the 20% discount campaign - they are effectively being ripped off!!

Dear Bishops Finger
If I can just say that I too received my renewal pack a week ago & read the same Info, but what I did was to email the ticket office to complain as well as threaten them with the help of West End legal advisors MISHCON DE REYA If they did'nt "Play Ball".
They then replied saying that If I sent a cheque for the total amout for the number of people In our family/group ( which Is three ) LESS 20%, they would then process my application which I'm very happy about!
So basically, If you kick up a fuss & demand a discount, then you're more-or-less certain to get It, so I hope that helps you mate & everyone else out there, so don't despair!!!

Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
Yeah fair enough, but all that info should be made readily available via a WHU e-mail/letter to all loyal season ticket holders , and not just to a few shrewd "in the know" fans !
Very shoddy and downright sneaky behaviour from G+S+B ! ...........SHAMEFUL ! ! !

Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
You don't have to kick up a fuss - if you phone up to renew they ask you if you want 5% discount for 4 years or 20% off this years renewal.
When I renewed I asked the girl why they were keeping it a secret, she said the information was "out there" and that It would be included in the Renewal Pack when I recieved it. This a blatant lie - there is no reference to the 20% discount being available.
All this leaves a very bad taste in the mouth!!

Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
Has anyone actually got the discount in person at the ticket office?
The fact that they are not mentioning that the 20% option is available is extrememly crafty, I would never have known until I looked on KUMB. If it was more widespread news Gold & Sullivan would have no option than to put a letter/email/statement on the website stating the 20% is available.

I phoned the ticket office last week and they confirmed I can renew in person and will get the 20% discount.
Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
So, why don't you apologise to the owners the way you behaved? And there's 20% off Ann Summers coming for season ticket holders.

Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
To be fair to the ticket office they appear to be doing an excellent job as they almost always do in my experience. They appear to be doing a far better job than the club in general and providing much better customer service as they are apparently informing people of their right to claim the full 20% in 2012 and providing people with the option of either discount.
I replied to the club's email regarding the 20% discount nine days ago and have yet to receive any response or even an acknowledgement of receipt. I am beginning to think that the customer services department and/or the owner's are not interested in receiving or replying to constructive criticism. If I had sent them an email saying, "Thank you so much for giving us a 5% discount, you're the bestist owners in the world" I'm sure I would have got a response by now. Either way it is once again terrible customer service and quite frankly an insult. If I don't receive a reply in due course I will be complaining, I've had enough of this disrespectful treatment of 'loyal supporters' and customers.
This is the email I sent them by the way, pretty reasonable all things considered IMO:

Leveller wrote:Dear Sir / Madam,
Thank you for your email dated 30 May 2012. Unfortunately I too have been somewhat disappointed and saddened with The Club's handling of this matter. Firstly, I would like to convey to you the feeling that I (and at least a significant number of other supporters) have towards your communications to fans, including in relation to this matter. I am aware that either much or all of your standard communication to supporters is somewhat influenced by public relations strategies. I feel that this can subsequently result in interpretations that The Club is being 'less than honest', not divulging the whole truth and often attempting to convey a traditional idea of a football club that sadly no longer exists in today's commercialised world.
The Club is run as a business and I fully acknowledge and accept this unavoidable fact. However its customers are not 'normal' customers. We are, as I am sure you are aware, completely and entirely loyal to The Club and therefore effectively the business. I feel that this does mean that supporters have higher expectations as to how the club should communicate with them for instance.
I agree that, "We are ultimately striving towards the same goal". However it is not for The Club to emotionally blackmail supporters into agreeing with its own ideas of how supporters should 'strive towards this goal' by making individual financial contributions. I do not agree with your assertions that the 20% discount will significantly damage The Club's finances (as I have previously justified with figures) and have previously provided you with evidence (of which you have chosen not to respond) that The Club and seemingly its owners have known about the 20% offer "for some time". I feel that if The Club wish to make statements when supporters have provided them with evidence to the contrary, that if they are fully justified with their own respective evidence then they will be received far better by supporters.
Thank you for now allowing the ticket office to process the 20% discount. I am grateful for the owners' personal loans and equity injection investments to the club as I am sure The Club is for the financial income that the support base generates. I sincerely hope that any differences between the owners and the supporters can be worked out and that future issues can be addressed together in a more cooperative, friendly manner.
Yours Faithfully,

Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was a debate, not a twat convention. Rude and unnecessary.Gummi wrote:So, why don't you apologise to the owners the way you behaved? And there's 20% off Ann Summers coming for season ticket holders.
And also, Ann Summers. What's so wrong with it? High Street hanky panky, that's all.

I see he hasn't been able to clarify why you actually need to apologise.Bedshammer wrote:Oh, I'm sorry, I thought this was a debate, not a twat convention. Rude and unnecessary.

Which is nice to hear .Bedshammer wrote: Well, we renewed at the ticket office yesterday, just said we wanted the 20% discount and it was given with no fuss.
The old fashioned renewal, at the counter , greeted by our hard working and dedicated staff in the TO , who complete the transaction promptly and then serve the next supporter .
And if anyone from the club is reading this , I'll take the opportunity to remind them that long before David Gold and David Sullivan came along this time around and purchased two thirds of the club , it was the cash from the supporters that prevented the club from sliding into administation as much as any cash they subsequently pumped in .
The 5 year scheme should have been viewed as a great opportunity to build bridges and thank the supporters for doing their bit , not as a cost to be borne grudgingly , however , we appear to have to the correct position by the end , so let's not whinge .
Well done West Ham , got there in the end .

And we had a nice breakfast in the Green Street Cafe afterwards. You don't get that online, do you?
You're right about the ticket office staff, they're unfailingly helpful in my experience.

Well said Leveller.
Don't hold your breath mate on a reply my friend, as I've not received a reply and I'm a member of the SAB, for what thats worth...and I don't rate it at all. Glorified market research, tarted up as something its not.

Re: The 5 year ST Loyalty scheme
I've been pretty hard on the owners about this, but I'm not sure that they actually need to publicise an offer that they don't agree with, as long as they honour it with good grace when they are asked to.
It's the "good grace" that's been lacking in my view.
I'm not sure that if you just buy one of a "buy one get one free offer' in a store, anyone automatically goes out of their way to tell you about it.
