good news from the israeli side mates.
in this article, the reporter wrote about how will you hammers fans will say yossi's name.benayoun, benayoum, or just plane benni.
it says that all the hammers fans are trying to find details about yossi, and that are a few israeli helpers( ).
it says that the fans are trusting pini zehavi, and that yossi will try to repair the impression eyal left.
also, his agent his qouted:"west ham and racing have closed the dael, yossi needs to pass the medical and then he will sign."
Quite obviously, this is the link they were relaying on...

Why does he need a workpermit?

Israel are a part of UEFA. Israel have teams in the CL and UEFA Cup. Is it because Irael isn't in the EU?

Apologies if I'm being a bit thick.

Ive been reading this topic over the last few days and i must admit that from what im hearing Yossi sounds like a great player for us. His scoring record is very impressinve from Midfield and he looks to have the flair that we lack. 8-) 8-)

Big thanks to our Israeli friends too... thanks Daniel :doff: :doff:

Nope, the fact Israel's FA is a part of UEFA is because of the hostility shown by our beloved Arab neighbors, which does not enables us to be a part of any Asian football association... :x

Israel is not a part of the EU and therefore Israeli footballers are considered foreigners. There's no question though that Benayoun will get his working permit because of his proven international record, it's not an issue.

Is there a number of caps you need to have in order to obtain working permit? In champ manager it was 25, if I'm not mistaken.

a player needs to have played more than 75% of his national team's games.

55 pages later on KUMB and alot of weighing up his (yossi's) future, he flies in for a medical and to sign terms.

Israeli star Yossi Benayoun has arrived in England, where he looks set to sign for West Ham.

Bolton had long been favourites to land the Racing Santander schemer and they agreed a deal earlier this week, but the promise of regular first team football and the chance to live in London look to have won the day for West Ham.

Benayoun is now understood to be undergoing a medical at West Ham.

Still some Spanish sources state that Benayoun is going to accept the offer of a four-year deal from Sam Allardyce, but it seems increasingly likely that he is going to join The Hammers.

Should West Ham land Benayoun then it will be a real boon for the South London club and somewhat of a coup for boss Alan Pardew.

The Hammers fans will hope hope that Benyoun could prove as big a success as the last Israel international to grace the Boleyn - Eyal Berkovic.

Pompey aren't interested in him anymore my friend  I live in Portsmouth (west ham fan obviously) and have seen him mentioned in the local press but they have signed a zambian striker now (Mbesemba) and are still after WANCHOPE  despite him having signed? for a Quatar club.

Is Katan better than Yakubu?
