having read the first thread i am saddened by the responces being only just one line just saying rip Ron
he was THE ultimate West Ham man.
Not just our greatest manager, but he was the most breakthroughguy we ever had.
the first manager to be outside the west ham family(he came from arsescum) which was a breakthrough act at that point.
if it wasnt for him we would be just another london football club
i hope that the club make a fixture that will be a tribute to him.....
saddest deat hsince sir Bobbys one....
my sencere condolences to his family..............
Ron u will live foreva in our hearts

RIP Mr Greenwood. You are one of the main reasons I am a Hammers fan today and am so proud to be one. The values and style of football you instilled in the club all those years ago are still there to an extent. The academy, the West Ham way of playing, the traditions that separate us from the rest of English clubs are basically down to you.
RIP
However i would like to see a minutes silence observed on Monday- this man came from a time when this was the way things were done. He was a gent and we should treat him like a gent rather than jumping on the George Best bandwagon with all the applause business.
