I wasn't even a twinkle in the milkmans eye when Greenwood managed us, but a part of football and the West Ham I love seems to have gone

I wasn't alive in his era but by all accounts he is responsible for the reputation for the great footballing club that we have. A very sad day for West Ham.

RIP Ron.

A true legend of the game. A visionary and a gentleman.
Thank you Mr. West Ham.

Also if there are 7000 kumbers I think this should end up the longest thread ever in tribute to a man who has done more for the spirit of our club than any other.

At least it was nice that he passed away when things are so positive at the club, with a bright future and everyone feeling behind the team.

Totally agree, nice sentiments mate.

Also totally agree with CTK on clapping. The man had a full and successful life in football, celebrate this and show appreciation. You will hear me clapping claps on Monday if you cock an ear towards the Channel

My old man always rated him and he was the first England manager I recognised during the Spain 82 World Cup

My Dad always harps on that if Keegan and Brooking had been fit for '82 Greenwood would have led us to victory.

Ron was the Manager when I first started to follow the club. Any young fan who grows up watching football the Ron Greenwood way is very lucky. A special man.
