I don't think he would Paddy. I reckon dancing like that takes more energy than Freddie's got these days.

Can't see that mate...yesterday especially first half he was wide open with plenty of space and didn't utilise it. 2nd half was greedy when he had done the hard work on two ocassions..

Rather unrealistic in my humble opinion – but who knows what a decent run of wins can do? The most we can I expect is 7th place, and that is IF the players we have returning from injury make the impact we all hope they will – which is rather unlikely.

Top half finish will do for me.

If we play 90% of our best against Birmingham, Fulham, Wigan 9 points is on. Top 6 and possibly top 4 wont look silly.

We haven't had a real good run yet this season. It will come.

Just a bit of positive mental attitude which I think he has probably brought from Arsenal.

Of course we all know we are as capable of finishing 16th as we are 6th, but it's not arrogance or deluded to say such things.
Aim for the stars and if you fail, you reach the sky... or summin like that. :?

West Ham sneaking a champions league spot is about as likely as a team in who in March, find themselves with 20points and smeeingly doomed for.....oh ......yea but still this would mean winning most of our games including beating teams in the ....ah...yes........ :raver:

Now i'm not saying we will finish 4th place, and i dare not even delude myself into believing we can do it this season.

However last season, 29 games in, we sat bottom of the league. We managed to make up 4 points on charlton, 10 points on city(they also had 2 games in hand), 11 points on sheff united, and 12 points on wigan to finish 15th. (beating everton, blackburn, arsenal and man utd in the run in)

Making up the 9 points up to 4th or the 7 points up to fifth, a mean feat yes, but just as impossible as it was of us staving of relegation last year.

If this kind of attitude from Freddie can rub off on some of the other players paired with the returning of the likes of fit again Faubert and Bellamy, Ashton finding some kind of fitness again, Ljungberg hitting some kind of form. The continuation of Green, upson, linda, mullins and CFC's form. Why cant we aim for a top 8 finish? or dare i say a top 6 finish.

rose tinted specs etc etc.

COME ON YOU IRONS!

this time last season all our new signings were saying that we will be staying up oh how we laughed, as the deluded twats hadn't seen us play

wonder if we'll be thinking similar come may as we did last may

if the players believe they can then we need to help drive them on

probably too much to ask but we are nearer fourth now than we were from safety this time last year

i like ljungbergs attitude , a very wise old man once said 'with him, all things are possible'. some religious guy. plays for some spanish team,

it'd be a great result to get european football, summer targets would be interesting

Old Slaven said on Sunday after the game that we hadn't won because maybe the some of the players didn't have the mentality/pressure of playing for a Big 4 team. He meant that every game their aim should be the win and not to avoid defeat.

Whereas Mr Sex obvious has the attitude from his time in Goonerland.

Fair play to 'The Gay', as an articulatory challenged fellow STH near me refers to him, positive thoughts and all that aint a bad thing and at least this fella has done it with Le Arse and isn't a victim of his own fantasy like God Bless.

Think some of the comments regarding West ham attitude are spot on. We almost expect to come up short and fail at the final hurdle - we almost live to the Bubbles mantra!

Aim for the stars is right. However, we should always remember Mike Small's famous last words after scoring against Arsenal at Highbury - something along the lines of this is the best for I have been in my life, I can't stop scoring. Unfortunately he could stop scoring and did brilliantly! I am now back in my comfort zone expecting to be the team the drops like a stone after Christmas......
