KUMB Forum Player of the Month: August 2008
For the first time ever we're going to nominate a Player of the Year as voted for by KUMB forum members only (that's you, that is).
We'll run a poll like this after the last game in each month; you get one vote each, once per month. At the end of the season all the votes get tallied up and the player with the highest number of votes wins the PotY. Nice and simple!
So to begin, your considerations please for the month of Augustus ...

Are you allowed to vote if you are yet to see a live game?

Has the possibility to vote for Spector been removed due to his injury or to thwart potential vote rigging by J. Sweets?

I voted Faubert, although it was close one between him and ashton for me. He's got a great cross on him and has got 3 assists already, good start to the season for him. Carlton Cole also deserves a mention, he works hard and was good again today against Blackburn.

I voted for Behrami, been really impressed with him in the last few games, looks like a very good signing !
Really adapted well and has the potential to be one of Curbishleys best buys. Also combines well with Faubert and are looking exceptional on the right flank. Looking forward to seeing more from him this season and hopefully see a few more runs around players like he did to set up Cole today.

He can hardly be Player of the Month if he didn't play ... except in Joey's house, naturally.EvilC wrote:Has the possibility to vote for Spector been removed due to his injury or to thwart potential vote rigging by J. Sweets?

Re: KUMB Forum Player of the Month: August 2008
I gave my vote to Calum Davenport. Sure, he's not world class by any means, and probably is our fourth best centre-back at the club, but I've been pretty impressed with him at the start of this season. For someone who obviously wasn't in Curbs' plans when he went on loan to Watford, then for him to break his neck and get wrote off by a few fans (including myself, I didn't expect him to play for us again) to then go and get a few pretty good performances and even a goal is wonderful for him.
A couple of mistakes, sure, but I have to say he's been definitely one of our better players this month.
Carlton Cole, Deano and Julien Faubert were good shouts as well.

Erm - where's Bellers, UtJ? I know he was only on for 20 mins, but he did get a goal... and a booking
Re: KUMB Forum Player of the Month: August 2008
Went with Davenport, because you hear alot of ***** that people come up with and in these 4 games he has proved all wrong imo, he can cut it at this level and he has played well in all of his games, topped off with the goal.
Keep it up .
