Away fans in the O/Sjust wondering where people would prefer the away fans to sit?
would you put them up in the gods like newcastle (although i have the feeling people sitting under them mayget pi$$ed on ect) or do you like having them right next to the pitch next to home fans like we currently have
Re: Away fans in the O/Sbehind one of the goals without retractable seating
Re: Away fans in the O/SWherever they want to sit. There will be plenty of room
Re: Away fans in the O/SLike Arsenal. Behind one of the goals and near the home supporters to keep the banter going
Re: Away fans in the O/SBehind the goals will be the very cheap seats that we're supposed to be using to tempt back those priced out, and I imagine give away to the schoolkids. Therefore by FA rules we will have to sell them to away fans at the same low prices.
Therefore stick them in more expensive seats.....most clubs will bring enough to help maximise revenues, and make sure it is next to wherever is designated as 'our singing area' if we decide to go down that route.
Re: Away fans in the O/S
Behind the goals out of the way with an higher allocation. If they stadium wasn't so big, I'd stick them in higher priced seats, but those will have a better 'view' of the pitch so our fans should be in those. They'll be more than enough cheap seats to go round. Ages ago when the new East Stand was proposed the club was talking about sticking the away fans at the BM end of the East Stand in the Band 2 seats.
Re: Away fans in the O/SIf the average PL team brings 3000 - for some it will be a lot more, others a lot less, why charge them only £15-20 when they've happily paid £35-45 at the Boleyn?
Re: Away fans in the O/S
Some of them will just buy the cheap seats in our areas anyway We need to let our fans have the best seats with the best view possible
Re: Away fans in the O/S
Don't you mean 'least bad view'?
Re: Away fans in the O/SAlmost certainly this will be done in conjunction with the old bill. They'll put the away fans in the end nearest to the nearest Rail link, which I assume is Stratford main. Chances are they'll do a millwank and build a caged walkway for away supporters.
Re: Away fans in the O/SI would put them in the same stand as the primary TV camera so they can't be seen. As at Everton, I believe.
Re: Away fans in the O/S
I have never understood giving Away fans the section behind a goal. That's 1 out of 4 sides of the ground, and they are close to the pitch. Hardly enforcing Home advantage is it? I would have them in a corner. That leaves only very few close to the pitch to intimidate the players, but close enough to the home fans to keep the banter going... See this image below - just imagine the Fruit'n'Veg as the Home support, and the RED section as the away fans and you get the idea... ![]()
Re: Away fans in the O/SWhen we play the big teams there will be so many away fans in our end taking the piss it will be embarassing
Re: Away fans in the O/S
But surely that section should be for pears?
Re: Away fans in the O/S
upper or lower? or both
Re: Away fans in the O/S
the red section looks like supermans pants
Re: Away fans in the O/S
poor turnout from the Spuds as usual.
Re: Away fans in the O/S
I think the Chelsea - Everton FA Cup Penalty Shootout yesterday reinforced my point. Having the spot-kicks in front of the Everton fans I have no doubt effected the focus of the Chelsea players. Ashley Cole was $hitting himself!!
Re: Away fans in the O/S
Everton fans 2m from the touchline, Cole could smell their breath. The being 40m away in the OS might not have the same effect
