didn't we sign faubert as a right mid? its only took us 4 years and 4 managers to realise that's his best position :raver:

Please god let us win, travelling to the game with my old man who is a
Posh season tkt holder but who used to be a Hammer and now hates them
with the small club chip on his shoulder in respect to bigger teams, it's a real
shame as the reason I support the Irons is because of him putting me into a West
Ham kit from the age of 5, I also live and work in Petetborough and sit opposite a Posh
season tkt holder at work, this will not be comfy viewing for me (is it ever)?

Cant believe your Dad chaging allegiance Bonzo. I know what you mean about living and working up here. If we dont win it will be unbearable. Since promotion all the 'Proud to be Posh' army have appeared out of the woodwork and I know they would take delight in beating us. The shame is that if more of the plastic manure, pool, chelski fans in the area supported thier local club from birth then they would have contributed to making your Dads team a tad 'bigger' financially than it is.

No. We can't drop the captain. Right now, I'm struggling to see how Baldrick can be accommodated in the team, but I think BFS needs to think about kicking Frogbert out the side. I can't see what he offers. No pace, poor technique and a poor crosser of the ball, so he needs to find other solutions in providing width on the right for two strikers. The only way I can think of is to drop O'Neill and bring in Demel at right back as gets forward for Cote d'Ivoire in much the same way as Cafu used to for Brazil and bomb up and down that line for 90 minutes. That is one way.

I think the only change will be Bentley for Taylor, and of course Reid will start.

We need to give some of the first team some competitive game time - this should be one of the easier H fixtures so why not shuffle the pack a bit.

Expecting Tomkins not to be fit, I'd start with this mob.

Green, Joey, Faye, Reid, Linda, Faubert, Noble, Nolan, Bentley, Baldrick & Cole.
Subs: Boffin, Diop, Taylor, Collison or Lansbury & Carew

I've just posted in the Millwall thread we need to stop playing with 10 men .This isn't cricket with Nolan fulfilling the Brearley role, selected for his inspirational captaincy and everyone else making his runs .

The fundamental issue his selection determines the shape of the team , and if he isn't scoring he isn't contributing .How can the Manager , armed with his pro zone analysis , look at a player like Noble and say " you ain't working hard enough" when he knows that Noble knows his Captain is doing rather less ?

After two rudderless seasons completely lacking in leadership on and off the pitch, I think we can afford to accommodate Nolan for awhile, seeing as we are unbeaten in six games. I doubt the Big Northern Fathead would play him if he didn't think he gave us a better chance of winning football matches, either. Not the sentimental type, is Walrus...

Looking forward to this one as I sit with a Posh fan at work. Been away in Mallorca the last two weeks so looking forward to watching Lansbury play. Heard good things.

TPP,
in agreement with you on this and said similar, but when is the right time to make that decision. The manager has said he has the
squad he wants and has competition for places. At some point you have to involve and play others inorder to keep that competitiveness going. This could perhaps be the match to start Baldock and have Nolan on the bench, although imo a bit early. The league is beginning to take form. Ideally after 12-15 games would be the time to start introducing others/changing line ups in matches against the lower half of the table teams. Still early days though and 39 matches left, but agree Nolan's selection dictates the formation and hasn't really hit form yet. Can he play the midfielder role in a 4-4-2 ?.
