Following on from Sunday's convincing 2-0 win away at Cardiff Sunday lunchtime, West Ham return to London and the Boleyn Ground in good form. Since January's 5-1 drubbing by Ipswich at Portman Road, The Hammers have gone 5 games unbeaten, notching up 3 wins and a draw. However, West Ham's last two home games have ended up in a draw, and they will be hoping not to make it a hat-trick. You have to go all the way back to December 3rd to find the last time West Ham suffered defeat at home, a 2-1 reverse at the hands of Burnley.

With a full squad to chose from, with the exception of Guy Demel, expect Sam Allardyce to rotate his squad, with some of the regulars likely to be rested. With a further 6 games left in March, the manager will have to utilise his squad to their best potential.

Watford come to flood-lit Boleyn Ground in shakey form, having won 2, lost 2 and drawn the other of their last 5 games in the league. They have conceeded 12 in those games, which include a 4-0 loss to away to Crystal Palace, and a 3-0 loss at home to league leaders Southampton.

With such a leaky defence, Hammers fans will be expecting to see goals galore on Wednesday evening.

Man to watch: Errrr....?

If I were Sam, I would resist the temptation to keep the same team that won today and make one or two changes to that line up in order to keep players fresh and reduce the risk of injuries. We need to keep the players the fit in our run in, so I think he should shuffle the pack just a little to make us more offensive at home. So I would go with:-

Green, O'Brien, Tomkins, Faye, Roberto Carlos, Ravel, Noble, Nolan, Lansbury, Balders, Maynard,

Looking forward to going along for this. Also by the options we have for the run in.

Hoping for a big win

I reckon the squad will be rotated for this one and Doncaster.....

I'd expect Taylor, Cole, Baldock, O'Neil, Faubert all to get a start in at least one of them - with Maynard, Vaz Te, Collison, Lansbury and maybe McCartney all having a game off

Think he should stick with Maynard, unlucky not to get at least one today

Taylor's due back for this, which is good news for the general shape of the side. Would love to see the same team that started against Saints given a whirl, which had Taylor at LB. That 15 minute window before his brainfart we were looking pretty sharp

In my opinion after the Cardiff match, its very importent,we freshen the starting XI up,hopefully Faubert will
be back, and i think a partnership of Baldock + ? should be introduced,Watford are an enigma,so you never know
what to expect

I would keep Faubert out of that team for a while. He offers little and what he does offer either slows things up or hinders us. I honestly do think we will pose much more of a threat to other teams, especailly at UP, without him in the side

Signs are good and I agree with most that we should rotate the squad somewhat over the next two games. My provisional team:

Green
O'Brien Tomka Faye Macca
Faubert Noble Nolan Taylor
Cole Baldock

Subs: Reid, Collison, Lansbury, Vaz Te, Maynard

and then at Doncaster......

Green
O'Brien Tomkins Reid Macca
Faubert Collison Nolan Vaz Te
Baldock Maynard

Subs: Faye (rested), Lansbury, Noble, Taylor, Cole

A big week for the Irons. With Reading having two away games, Birmingham missing out on a round of games, and us with two homes against two frankly poor teams, we could have a chance of extending the difference in points, and hopefully negating any potential worries about Pompey going bust.

However this is West Ham

Reading have 2 home games, 1 against Pompey and the other against Boro. After that they have 3 away games then they play Blackpool and us.
