Disproves the nonsense that him having the temerity and God forbid, loyalty, to stick around in a succession of ***** West Ham teams means he is somehow the responsible "common denominator" in our ailing fortunes?

....like what?

Like a midfield of Parker and Noble is good enough for a team to finish in the top ten, but not good enough to keep a team bereft of fullbacks, width and leadership on/off the pitch in the Premiership by themselves? Football is a simple game, but not that simple.

Green will be off if we don't go up, will probably go if we do.
Tomkins still switches off at times will get better but needs experience around him
Linda may stay as back up - agree, think we need competition at left back though
O'Brien signed on a one year, can't see him staying
Faye may stay
Collins will stay on small fee - not surprised but was disappointed with his defending on a few occasions already
Reid another casualty of making savings - isn't he cheap though?
Diop is a goner
Noble will stay - I have a feeling he'd go if we had a decent bid from someone like newcastle
Nolan will stay
Collison I think will go. - any particular reason for thinking that?
Faubert high wages will see him off - not a surprise
Taylor will stay
Carew gone
Piq gone
Baldock gone
Maynard stay
Cole stay due to his knees
Vaz Te stay in this league gone in prem
Barrera gone
Nouble gone

This is massive upheaval all gambled on a premiership return

some surprises in there Bristol
Vaz Te who has only just arrived, baldock only just signed, Reid, O'Brien and Collison

Does nothing of the sort. The two seasons that we've done ok have been built on a heavily defensive, non expansive set up.....plus a dose of Bellamy.

Noble isn't "Parker and Noble".

There seems to me to be an anomaly between the way our support rates him and the way he is viewed by other teams' managers. Where are the PL bids? Why wasn't he in the top 10 players selected by the managers at this level?

Surely, if he was that good, that obvious a PL player - that would be reflected in other clubs interest?

He's a decent player - good technically, probably wasted playing so deep - but he shouldn't be an absolute shoo-in if we went up.

Although not a huge fan of Carew he looked good when he came on as he held the ball up well and is more ''fit for purpose'' than Carlton Cole who quite frankly has been terrible the last few games.

If Big Sam would have started with the eleven that finished the game we would have won, easily.

Burnley were shocking and starting off against them with Cole up front on his own must be viewed negatively :thdn:

It's easy to moan about Baldock missing a few chances but he is probably low on confidence and needs a run in the team to get his goal scoring boots on.

One of the most derelict away ends I have been in.

Clearly I'm being too subtle ,it is in the context of a match thread , where according to the Manager we dominated the first half .

The quality of play on show was not to a particuarly high standard from a technique perspective - hence the link to your post .

Loads of poorly executed short passes, loads of occasions where players couldn't play the killer ball due to being so one footed , ;ack of instinctive play etc etc ......

I'll remember to use a crayon next time .

Apologies if this has been done to death earlier in the thread but I've only just seen the highlights - why the bloody hell was Nolan's first goal disallowed?

Think I asked you this before christmas bubbles but may be worth asking again based on recent posts - if Nolan is a certain starter, we seem to all agree a decent defensive midfielder is a must - hen we're left with one central midfield spot - who would we sell from noble and collison and who should we sell?

He played for us in the PL most notably iirc his best with Carlito and Bobby Z.

Perhaps if we got some decent players around him with movement, he might shine even more. Muamba is a bit bigger but not that much better if at all. Stuart Holden, NRC, the irritable little b*stard Cattermole..all play decent jobs for their team.

I think that Chuck mentioned on here that the player we are looking for plays for Citeh and would cost us about 30 M, David Silva, or maybe we could get Chel$ki to part with Juan Mata, now's there a player who might make a difference to us.

(Actually is there's a much better player than him right now I don't know one)........

There is one but as he's never won a World Cup on he's own he's still considered a bit sh*t.

I'm struggling to come up with that one, attacking midfield player, a bit better than Mata or Silva who hasn't won a W.C. Who's considered a bit *****. Unless you mean Lionel, but I was talking PL team players who might maybe come over to us if we get promoted.....
