See, taht's what yesterday has done to me. I'm stuck in to some 80's time-warp and thought we were going to have a good old knees-up at Highfield Road.CentenaryUpperHammer wrote:Leicester...quick it's Leicester...no-one will notice
Anyway, I knew it was one of our former Div 1 rivals we were playing at their new place.

Fat Sam's decided to start scheduling extra fixtures to get us the necessary points - that's smart management. Coventry aren't going to know what hit them

My big hope is that Hall gets a full game. Put him on the other flank to Vaz.

Re: Leicester City V West Ham United: Match Thread
God forbid we now show some creativity and change it up a bit.
I hope we see Baldock get more than 10 minutes a game. If McCartney is out and Taylor is shifted back we'll still have no left winger to call upon.
Two games left and I still don't know what our best team would be if we played 4-4-2

Bloody hell, if Southampton win at Boro on Saturday night I don't think I can stomach this one.
£30 match ticket, £30 hotel, £30 train ticket, £20 food, £50 booze. Watching West Ham scrape a draw in a meaningless match = priceless.

Think its time to rest a few for the play offs my team for monday would be
------------------Green----------------------
Demel----Collins---Ried----Taylor
Lansbury-------Diop----------Collinson
----------------Morrison--------------------
---------Maynard---------Baldock-------
Subs Henderson,Nolan,Cole,Hall,Potts
Just a thought i have no doubt BFS will play a far more defensive 4-5-1 with Carew up top

Don't really know if I can be bothered with this one now! Going to be spending well over a hundred quid for what is pretty much just a friendly which is being shown on telly.

When the fixtures came out i thought this could be the title decider
Im still looking forward to the game and i think i will be a decent match TBH. I also dont expect many changes as i doubt BFS will want to disrupt the squad too much, not that we have a great deal of rhythm anyway....

Re: Leicester City V West Ham United: Match Thread
Whilst I take the idea of resting some players, I feel it is more important to keep those players playing well, playing. If we give someone like Vaz Te a couple of games off, it may save a freak injury or such, but he could loose some form and dent his confidence, we should be playing the XI that we intend to start in the first playoff game so the guys play as a team, becasue when they do play properly, they are awesome.
Disrupting the teams balance now would be wrong.

Re: Leicester City V West Ham United: Match Thread
Right, one BIG positive (if Big Sam will be able to use this to our advantage remains to be seen though) has to be the fact that we will have a practically fully fit squad to choose from, so no need to play square players in round holes again.
Hopefully we don't rest our main guys now since that would mean chopping and changing things again.
Let's hope that Big Sam will decide on a good, positive, attacking formation, choose the team accordingly and let them get some confidence by banging in some goals in our remaining two meaningless regular season games.
I don't see what Collins brings to the table, so I hope we don't have to see him in a West Ham shirt again.
My team for the rest of the season, the playoffs and hopefully a win in the playoff final would be:
Green
Demel - Tomkins - Reid - Taylor
Faubert - Noble - Nolan - O'Neil
Vaz Te - Maynard
Subs: Henderson, Faye, Diop, Cole, Baldock
This team SHOULD be able to win all our remaining games, including the playoff final...I bet that Big Sam thinks otherwise and will start to play Carew as our starting lone striker...or bring Piquionne back...

Re: Leicester City V West Ham United: Match Thread
Allardyce will get absolutely slaughtered if he picks Tomkins, Cole, Vaz etc for this one and they get injured (do suspensions carry over to the play offs?)
Hull at home is for momentum, match practice and hopefully a second straight home win for the first XI.
This one is for giving the squad /fringe players and recovering incapacity benefit players a game.....
Something like:
Subs: Boffin: Potts: Morrison: Baldock: Big Centre Forward Lump (excl. Cole)
This lot should have some motivation to do well and give it a good go.

Re: Leicester City V West Ham United: Match Thread
A pretty meaningless game now, however I'd still like us to carry some of the momentum we've picked up recently and not to lose this game, but don't want to see us set up defensively.
-------------------Green
Demel---Tomkins---Reid---Potts
----------------O'Neil
-----------Noble---Morrison
Hall------------Cole---------Vaz Te
Subs: Henderson, Faye, Nolan, Taylor, Maynard
I'll probably get slated for putting Morrison in there but it would be nice to see what he can offer, same with Hall and of course we've seen what Potts is capable of already this season.
Faye for Tomkins, Taylor for Vaz Te around the hour mark.
Respect the point!
