Gret job, Sam.
You've made us a club with pride, passion and togetherness on the field. A never give up attitude that I do not think I have ever witnessed in my time supporting this wonderful club of ours.
You deserve great credit for taking a club on it's knees, after a shambolic few years, and giving us fans some hope and belief again all in the space of less than 12 months.

And yes, I'd still be saying the above even if we had lost yesterday.

We really are lucky to have such a great manager. I just hope that (what seems to be) the vocal minority now STFU for a while and give you the big thumbs up for a job well done.

Massive and long-term thanks from me on three levels:
- getting the respect and pride back into the whole club in such a short time
- having the strength to act decisively and change it tactically at a critical stage yesterday
- giving key young talents their confidence back

Tomkins was being interviewed post-match yesterday and BS walks into shot. Cue a bit of banter from BS about what a good looking centre half JT is. Interviewer turns to Sam and says something along the lines of what a good centre half you were; quick as a flash and in a serious voice Sam says he wished he could have had the talent 'to play like this fella does'. How good must that sort of thing be to a footballer over a season?

Thanks Sam - and by the way Holloways brilliant tactical plan yesterday was based on quick long ball into the corner. They only resorted to passing to around in front of us after he changed our shape.

A proper manager who bought in a proper captain and seems a proper bloke too. No complaints from me, well done Big Fella!

What a difference from the day a bad Tomkins back pass led to a goal, and that numpty Matthew Upstart didn't even put an arm around the young lads shoulders. Big Sam and super Kev have given us a team. You can see that at every level, they all fight for each other and as Nolan said: we win together and we lose together. What a difference to the previous 2 seasons.

He did his job and despite a sticky spot it was much better than I thought it would be.

Well done Sam.

He did it the hard way after that shocking run of draws midway through the season that killed our automatic promotion chances, (coupled with Reading's stunning run of form).

BFS has proven himself to have been the right man for a difficult job, getting us the result we wanted and being a manager capable of making the tough decisions on cutting loose players if they don't benefit our club.

Its going to be a good summer - I'm not expecting marquee signings but more an indication of the types of players that Sam thinks will get us re established in the prem for the next 2 or 3 years. That works for me.

Keep Calm and Carry On Sam.

Big thanks to Sam, that season was great for me, mangaed to get to all but 3 games and to win as many as we did is something I wont forget in a hurry, but yesterday will be with me forever. We seem to be getting stronger as a team and am hoping maybe linda n angella could stay, sort out a couple of contracts with greeno n poohbear, n a couple of additions n bring on the premiership.....Well done Sam and good luck in the prem.

That don't sound like a thank you nor shows any gratitude, is it that difficult for some folks, though I have heard sorry can be the hardest word. :)

Loved him dancing and singing Bubbles, but more importantly I was impressed with him saying 'WE' were relegated last season, not they but we. That sums up for me the great spirit he has built at the club.

It won't be popular but I would argue he's done the bare minimum expected of him this season - winning by a single goal in the play-off final. But even if it was by the finest of margins, that IS what he was asked to do and he did it in difficult circumstances - for that he deserves a lot of credit. The pressure must have been immense at times.

I feel confident of facing next season under him - think his eye for a player and experience of keeping middling sides well clear of relegation will be invaluable, maybe even moreso than it was this season.

I think Sam has done a great job in very trying cicumstances. Our away form where the support has been loud and behind the team has been excellent. Our home form where the support has been anxious and quick to criticise has been not as good.
Sam has rebuilt, and like Pardew before him has not got the credit deserved for working with a team where nuggets are sold and the expectations remain high.

Sam has an impressive record in the Premiership, and I beleive he wants to play good football. Bolton were tough to beat but played some good stuff at times while he was there.

I look forward to next season, lets play our part in making Upton Park a tough place to come to by really getting behind the team like yesterday, and if you feel nervous either start or join in a song, it will make you feel much better!

Sorry everyone I made upset with my yesterday thread. I did not mean to. It was a long and fantastic day yesterday and had so much beer I did not realised it was not the right time to ask the question. I just wanted to know your opinions fellows after so much criticism Big Sam got during the season.but used the wrong words. I did sometimes myself too but to be honest I trusted in his ability to bring us back up. I know he is a good manager and deliver the results we need. I did not want myself him to go next year he deserves a chance in the premiership. I do go every games and sing my heart out all the time. (Bcause one of you said probably I never go). That is one of the reason I asked the question because many people in the pubs have had negative opinion during season about him. I was stupid to start that thread and apologise again. It is locked now and I would ask the moderators to delete it if it is possible.

THANK YOU BIG SAM !!!

Spot on mate

The owners must not make the same cheap crap signings as last time when we were in the prem, I want to see good players aged between 20-25 years old give Sam a proper budget and he will do the job.

Just want to add my thanks too.

I think Sam may have enlarged the "West Ham way" so that it includes good flowing football on the floor but can also do the pragmatic grinding out of results that any team needs if it wants to be successful as well as pretty. We are full of euphoria after Saturday but next season will not be easy - staying up can be as hard as getting up (believe me at my age I know!).
So let's not have any more booing of our own men. This season they have shown how hard they work for the shirt. We all have our off days and get through them better with a little help from our friends.
Onwards and upwards!
