Trouble at Wembley (including You Tube) ?

Postby Romford on Mon May 21, 2012 12:21 am

Seems like the Blackpool fans are very upset with the behavior of some of our fans...and i personally thought it was a bit sour grapes but after reading into it a bit more to, maybe they have a point.

From where i was...it looked very much like Tangerine fans attacking lone Hammers in their end and giving the larger groups a swerve.

Anyone else see anything bad near them....

There are reports of coaches being attacked, plastic cups of pi$$ being thrown and kids crying etc.

Not nice reading....and unusual as we usually get good reports after we play teams.

Read all that and if true, a disgrace to our club.
Spoke to a lot of people before after and today but not heard anything about it.
Does not mean it did not happen though.
These events do seem to encourage a certain element of day tripping drunks though and we have more than our fair share.

Didn't see any of that myself, the worst I saw was the odd booing of a stray Blackpool fan, but all in good banter.

Don't know about that Romford, but I was disappointed with our fans overall on Saturday.

Very quiet for much of it; when the chips are down you expect our lot to get behind the team but it happened far too infrequently, especially in the second half. One young lad in front of me was doing his pieces, imploring the fans to get behind the team; behind me I had to put up with a first class idiot - no younger than I, a big, trappy, shaven headed lump - calling each and every one of our players 'f***ing c***s' throughout the game.

When we did get our arses in gear towards the end Nolan hit the bar, Collison had a good chance, JT nodded one onto the roof of the net and Vaz scored - all within the space of a few minutes.

I thought it was good for most of the first half....and then went missing when they scored.

There was an awful lot of pissed bods about though...and outside before had a bit of an edge due to the ticketing.

I got spat upon as i walked outside the station from a Tangering clad chav so wasn't in the best mood and blamed it on myself getting wound up.

There does seem too many bad reports for it to be sour grapes though

Well if that's the sort of thing they were up then perhaps it's no surprise one or two took it upon themselves to have a pop back. If all this is true, of course; I don't know any more than you.

But like you, I hope it's not.

I read it thinking there were just too many stories for them all to be true. Women getting their legs kicked as they stood on the edge of the platform? I can't see it.

We were on a packed tube when four or five Blackpool lads got on. They got a burst of 'we've got all your tickets' and all bar one of them laughed, joined in with the craic, a couple even joined in with Bubbles. All off at Wembley Park, hand shakes and hugs all round, good luck etc etc. However, the one who wasn't impressed was getting tetchy and it was obvious he wasn't happy with his friends behaviour. I have a feeling a lot of what I read in that thread was written by people more in kin with the odd one on out on the tube rather than the people looking to have a good time.

Have to admit this one tickled me...

I'll be writing a letter of complaint to Brent council and the met police. It won't be the end of that.

Looked at that site but not the way I saw it. lots of love from Blackpool fans. Although there was a little mob up on the triangle after the game. A split lip was the most that was going happen though.

I wouldn't put it past some of our fans tbf. I've seen some of them behave about as badly on trains before. Usually the big fat middle-aged wasters playing plastic gangsters. Few sights more pathetic. ****ing hate that element of our support.

That is bang out of order especially when kids/families are likely to get caught up in it. Those of ours that we're in their end must have known what would happen of they played up. There were plenty of Blackpool hooligans about as well as West Ham, but why the hell can't they leave it alone on a special occasion like this when families are around.

Saw an older West Ham chap get his nose busted in by a Blackpool kid after the game, nose was streaming. Also a load of Blackpool giving it the biggun before the game. However, unlike them, i aint stupid enough to tar every Blackpool fan with the same brush.

What they're talking about in their end is what, 50 West Ham out of over 40,000. Of course you're going to get a few numpties. Maybe if they bought their own extra 10k they might have had a few more muppets too.

Scaloni, I'm sure a lot of those stories on there are true but I suspect that one might be an embellishment on the truth due to out small town friends not being used to a packed underground platform. Even our arseholes, and there are plenty of them, would draw the line at booting women in the back of the legs.

I chose that one as an example of the main thrust of what I wrote, that some of their fans were looking for trouble that wasn't there, and might be minded to latch on to a thread to vent their frustration and sling some **** our way.

No complaints here:

I note that f***wit Mr DD, who was going to "elbow" any Hammers in their end, opted instead to take photographs from about 100 feet away...

Had a read through that thead on there and some of the things we 'did' sound proper harsh. But a lot of it also seems to be them getting their nickers in a twist over chants, noise and jumping around which makes me think they are just a bit precious.

Obviously having a load of tickets in their end was bound to result in some trouble. I would like to think that our fans wouldn't shout abuse at children and spit/piss on people, but these days a lot of people like to 'support' us so they can pretend they're in Green Street for the day.

There's one bloke on there complaining because West Ham fans were shouting and chanting too loudly outside the ground!!!

A few others on there speculating about what was poured onto the fans in the lower tier. Don't get me wrong, pouring beer onto the people below is a pretty shitty thing to do but it's in no way as bad as pouring pint glasses of piss over the edge. For all we know the fans in the middle ring could have thrown their pints in the air when West Ham scored.

The majority seem to be annoyed because West Ham fans celebrated in their end and children had to watch their own fans take pops at the cheering West Ham fans.

I don't doubt that there were some idiotic West Ham fans about but what I saw was large numbers of mixed fans getting on. Saw quite a few mixed groups taking pictures together on Wembley Way before the game.
