investing a further £25 mill for players, debt reduction and to "fund the survival of the club".

25M for debt and new players.

Frankly, that may not be enough.

Edit: My season ticket 3 years ago wasn't 600 quid.

Pinky

What did the 35M consist of ? Loans ? Paying down debt ? Because they certainly never paid it for players. Now I don't dislike them at all, I am just wondering that they talk about chucking in money, but it doesn't seem to me that they have done it out of the goodness of their heart. Not that I expect them to chuck money away either. Just interested as to how they feel that they will end up putting in 60M by the start of the season and as a club we don't seem to be a lot better off financially than we were.

equity or cashflow?
including wages?
on top of operational surplus meaning more than £25m could be spent on players?

have warmed a bit more to them this season but we were largely relegated under grant because we failed to invest in certain squad gaps - hope we/they've learnt a lesson

i personally won't be satisfied until we have two decent full backs on each side - starter and back up......

Not sure if im missing something here but what is the point of this statement?

We already know the ST prices, so why do they feel the need to tell everyone what they are putting in?

Matt

General question for Pinky. He's one of our financial experts as I don't profess to be able to read the accounts or interpret what they mean.

Him and others explain it in terms that I can actually understand. (see the Rangers in Admin thread).

Unless of course you'd like to do it for me ??

Oh and I might be a silly old git, but you've trumped me on this one.

Whilst not ungrateful for the money G&S have put into the club, I would suggest that someone worth hundreds of million would hardly be affected by not having £30 million, but that the amount that many supporters put into the club by way of season tickets etc has a far greater effect on their standard of living and disposable income.

I think it is probly to do with the loyalty thing and not giving the discount on season tickets, in other words we are doing our best so please let us do it the best we can. it is clear they want the best for the club......

The club needs new blood if we are to stay in the PL, and stay we must at any cost, if that means no 20% discount then so be it!

Yeah I had a feeling it was in reply to all that but wish they had the balls to come out and say it.

They are puting their money in, they are asking the fans to put theirs in.For the first time ever i dont think my money being spent with the club is being wasted. Its every person choice, spend it or not.I dont like people wasting my money, which i think we can be safe with that.

has to be cashflow

PL wise - at really high level bag of a fag packet......

turnover in the prem likely to be circa £80m-£85m

IIRC our wage bill was quoted at £32m - Gold said it would go up by £14m but half of that on a very prudent estimate will be offset by the players released

£10m to Sheff Utd
couple of mill on interest
£10m player amortisation

leaves £20m odd from bau operating activities....(as I say - high level simple maths)

adding 5 players on £20k per week would add £5m to the wage bill (plus bonuses)
then if we spend £15m on those players we wouldn't actually take the PL hit on them in one accounting year anyway (if they sign three year contracts then will be spread over 3 years anyway

sure pinky will do a more detailed (and accurate) analysis
