So Demba Ba has a £7m get out clause but we are going to lodge an £8m bid just for a laugh?

Thanks CH

The Ba contract sounds like a minefield. We'd probably end up getting sued by The blunts

I see our old friend Marlon, is on the move again, next stop, Bournemouth. He's had a bit of a chequered career, but my best wishes go out to him and hope he can settle down a bit there. That should be quite a good little club for him

Your news round up and babe of the day start every day for me.

So should I. I don't live in UK so it's always the first thing I look at every lunchtime at work here (GMT+6).

BOTD? Definitely a keeper, especially after straining the old mince pies at all our transfer speculation, it's a perfect way to finish it off!

West Ham close in on two new men

West Ham are poised to sign two players before the end of the month, according to co-chairman David Sullivan.

Senegalese midfielder Mohamed Diame, available on a free transfer from Wigan, heads West Ham’s wanted list and could complete a move this week.

Manager Sam Allardyce wants a striker, with Blackburn’s Yakubu, Norwich City frontman Grant Holt and Real Madrid’s Spain Under-21 international Joselu all linked with the club.

“We expect to sign a player this week and next,” said Sullivan. “I can’t say any more at the moment though.”

Another player linked today with West Ham is Sweden international defender Jonas Olsson who has one year left on his contract at West Brom and has been told by new manager Steve Clarke that he can leave.
