Re: Official Betting Thread
did a little double this morning
federer to lose as he hasn't looked his commanding self, Malisse was 9 to 1
and like wise sharapova who i hate watching hasn't been too good, and Lisiki loves wimbledon and was 9/2
a couple of quid on the double
federer is losing and off court in the doctors, sharapova a break down in the first

No mate,
Just depends on what Eds "lay" price is. Nothing else matters. The prices on the others don't matter.
Unless, you were trying to do it on fixed odds rather than Betfair. But it's a bit (very) complicated as you have to work out the stakes and profits on all the other riders, to gain equal profits.........don't even start it

So, if we were talking about horses that dropped from, say 14 down to about 9/2 overnight, then you could realistically earn some good wedge if you stake high? About £100?
So, in that example, if you have a good eye that a horse will be well backed nearer race time, taking the above as an example, you'd back overnight @ 14s for £100
Meaning if you layed at 9/2, then you'd be looking at about £221 profit?
Or am I completely wrong?

Spain v Italy drifted to 4.2 on Betfair for over 3.5 goals with about 30 minutes left last night. Stuck £20 on that.

No, that is approx correct mate.rare as rockinghorse shat wrote: Or am I completely wrong?
Just for the sake of clarity. When we say backing at 6.0 on Betfair that is actually 5-1.........5.5 on Betfair is 9-2.
So if you backed something at 34.0 on Betfair that is actually 33-1.
Small differences but it does make quite a bit of difference when talking about profits etc.

Sorry, one last thing.
On Betting Assistant, I assume the Green up button to the right of that particular selection just calculates it exactly as that and places it, showing you this exact calculate profit as you go?
Also, say you stake the £100 and you want to take a maximum loss of £10, can you implement something so that it kicks in, just in case you go to bed, or go make a toasted cheese sandwich or something and the price drifts while you're away?

there is a stop loss option. You set this in "ticks" ..........one tick is equal to the smallest movement (drift) possible in price.
If you want to do this, PM me before you make the initial bet. I want to make sure you have done it correctly, but yes you can do this.

You can open any number of accounts as long as you use a different card. I think you can even use paypal with the same card you've already registered (though I'm not sure of that one tbh.)
I have 3 Betfair accounts...

Re: Official Betting Thread
Yeah proper,
It's all above board.
Can have as many accounts as you like....
The card must be registered to the name you give when you open the account................so if you wanted to open one in brothers or mothers name, you could. But you would have to use their card.
If you have another card in your name that will be ok. Just open another account in the same name you opened the first one.

Re: Official Betting Thread
If my brother asked me for access to my cards so he could open an account in my name on a betting site the week after he'd heard about potential job trouble, I'd say no.
