Re: making the text stay largeOn Windows 7 you go Start - Control Panel - Display and then you should be able to change the view to Medium or Larger and then once you click apply you'll need to log out of windows (not restart) and when you log back in you should see the change.
Re: making the text stay largethanks mate we did that but with no luck the icons on the desktop went larger as did the top of the page where it says file edit view history and all that but the actual pages that you open are still small, I have windows 7 ultimate is that the same as windows 7 cause everything I seem to do just aint working
Re: making the text stay largeOk next thing to try is when you have navigated to the display screen in the left hand panel it says 'Set custom text size (DPI)' you can click on this to adjust the Dots Per Inch to a size that suits (might need a few adjustments til your happy).
Re: making the text stay largeI've just experimented with my browser (Google Chrome) and you can do it in there -
Click on spanner (top right) Settings - go to bottom - click on Show advance settings go down to Web Content and set the "Zoom" above 100%. At least you will be OK for the internet. You must be able to do this on other browsers too (he said hopefully)..
Re: making the text stay large
done that mate but everything is bigger until i exit out of the page everything stays large except the text so i have to enlarge every page
Re: making the text stay largeI'm assuming Windows 7 here.
Start>All Programs>Accessories>Ease of Access>Ease of Access Center>Make the computer easier to see>Change the size of text and icons.
Re: making the text stay large
we could not find the ease of access??
Re: making the text stay largeI wonder if it depends on your version on Win 7. I have Home Premium 64 bit.
Try pressing the Windows Logo key + U together, or Start>Control Panel>Ease of Access Ease of Access Centre
Re: making the text stay large
all you get is a magnifying glass and there is nothing to say enlarge text doing my head in
Re: making the text stay largeThat doesn't sound right. When I do the Windows Logo + U, I get this
The option I've highlighted is the one which allows you to increase the text size. If you follow this link, it tells you how to turn off the magnifying glass. Doing that may allow you to see the rest of the Ease of Access stuff. EDIT:- I've just managed too reproduce what you described, the magnifying glass starting up. I pressed the Windows Logo key and the '+' key together. If you're doing this because I wrote Windows Logo + U, please accept my apologies. What you need to press are just the Windows Logo key and the 'U' key together, you don't need to press the '+' key.
Re: making the text stay largewe done what you said control panel etc came up exactly how you said it would magnifying glass already off so we clicked on change size of text and icons it came up smaller 100% medium 125% and larger 150%.
this is what we done when we changed the icons to make them bigger we went from smaller to medium as large way to big next to come up is adjust screen resolution ,calibrate colour, change display settings ,adjust clea4r type text ,and set custom text we have tried set custom text but this is the same as medium or 125% which is what made the icons bigger, but still the text is small and again 150% is way to big could it be the screen resolution i have a 20 inch lcd screen my old one was the big and bulky sort when i originally got the lcd screen i was still on windows vista since then i have upgraded to windows seven could this be the problem?
Re: making the text stay largeWindows 7 shouldn't be a problem. You seem to have done the right things, did you click Apply?
Have a look at the video here.
Re: making the text stay large
exactly what we done mate all it did was make the icons on the desk top huge
Re: making the text stay largeSteve. This may be really bloody obvious, but to save all that hassle, why don't you get a pair of specs instead?
I can picture the threads now. 'Where is CH's gossip this morning?' 'He is off sick, got concussion. He walked in to something again'
Re: making the text stay large
