Hines handed Swindon chance
Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio has given former West Ham striker Zavon Hines the chance to resurrect his career after handing him a trial at the County Ground.
Hines was released by Burnley earlier this summer, less than a year after joining the Lancashire club.
The nippy forward first appeared for West Ham against Macclesfield in August 2008, marking his debut with a goal, before sporadically featuring for the Hammers over the course of the next few seasons.
However, injuries hampered his time at Upton Park, and he was sold to Burnley for £250,000 last summer.
The 23-year-old disappointed at Turf Moor, failing to score in 16 outings, and he was sent out on loan to Bournemouth, where he managed one goal in eight appearances.
And following his exit from Burnley, Hines has pitched up at Swindon, where he hopes to persuade former West Ham favourite Di Canio to hand him a full-time deal.
