Tripp Smith investment was always a bit odd if he didn’t intend to invest more at some point. It be nice to get these lot out but I don’t know much about Smith

Initial reaction is thank f***, but as with any billionaire owner with no affinity for the club be carefully what you wish for.

There are owners just as bad, some even worse than GSB. Hopefully our next will be better, or I’m almost at the point of giving up.

54 year old billionaire, Co-Founder of GSO Capital Partners. The company managed in 2018 in excess of $140 billion worth of assets before he left their ranks. Doesn’t think Joe Hart on a free is a good idea.

Would sweeten a possible relegation. But we can't lose sight of fact the top 6 still have ambitious owners and we would be a long way from them.

I doubt G&S would capitalise in their investment whilst we were in the championship unfortunately, unless there were some huge protests but even then I wouldn’t be sure.

Would love to get rid of the porn bros hopefully this is true. Not getting my hopes up, might be at a cut price when we are in the championship.

We have the worst owners in the league for sure.

Who could be just as bad or worse?

Theres more chance of me sticking my cock in a river full of piranhas and still being able to use it after , than this story having any legs to it

Walt Disney will be looking at its next fairy tale now

A) Club has probably halved in value in last 3 months.

B) Relegation now inevitable so value even less.

C) They will not sell, and certainly will not sell at this moment in time given a and b above)

D) Our sources for this ‘story’ are the Daily Star and the Daily Fail!

There is about as much chance of this having any legs to it as there is Felipe Anderson scoring a hat trick on Tuesday night.

I fear you're right .

Odd story to put out at this time of year .

And if you are thinking of sticking your manhood in a river full of piranhas may I suggest throwing in a few sacks of sugar first .

So that their teeth fall out . :)

I doubt they sell before 2023, but if you wanted to make the argument why now, the answer probably is:

Smith just made an absolute killing on a new fund.
Our owners probably just saw some significant losses in their own outside interests.
Relegation might decrease value, BUT, it also increases losses the owners will take next season, and failing to come back up next year will tank the value far more. Rich owners are willing to invest in Championship sides that they think they can spend up into the PL (see Wolves, Villa, Fulham, West Brom etc.) and there is more value if you just went down because you don't have to buy as many new players (and/or have players to sell).

I doubt it happens, but there are reasons it would make sense if Gold and Sullivan are being risk averse, or having liquidity issues.

Doubt Smith will be a good owner. American investment fund managers tend to only be interested in profit.

I know someone who did that once, I asked them would they ever do it again? he replied "No, Once Bitten"

Yes but to make the biggest profits you have to be successful on the pitch and on the transfer market.

Step 1 would be to become a feeder club for the elite clubs. Like Tottenham have been doing. They are making massive profits
