This is the no brainer to end all no brainers. 16 games for us, 9 goals, 5 assists, that's a £50m player. Get it done.

A player that thinks he is bigger than us and used us as a stepping stone to get into the Man U squad. Who will want big money and will go missing once he get bored

There is so much wrong with that statement.

I think this is about right.Personally I would take him on loan again until the end of the season but not on a permanent deal.We should be looking for a younger hungrier player for the future like when we signed Bowen.

Do we really want to sign someone who IMO thinks of our beloved West Ham merely as his PLAN B ?

Lingard is a Man U fan and has been at the club since he was seven years old (that's twenty one years). Of course we're his plan B, the fact that it looks like we aren't his 'plan E' (after the rest of similar clubs) speaks volumes.

I genuinely can't get my head around some of these comments.

Do people realise that he's been at Manchester United nearly his entire life, is likely a Man United fan and was pretty much promised some decent game time this year by Ole (Which never was fulfilled of course)?

Whilst we're at it, lets sack Declan Rice too. Find it nauseating that he played for Chelsea academy prior to us.

Hard one this.
He was superb for the first half of his loan. Added a directness we lack at times. Would upgrade certain areas within the team.
He seemed to elevate other players with his movement and directness.

The downsides: Badly tailed off. Gave the impression of thinking he is bigger than the club. Lazy at tines in games. Made clear we are very much a second choice. Signing players from bigger clubs rarely works. Age means he is clearly not a young, hungry signingvthat Moyes claimed he wanted when he joined.

Overall, would.prefer we steer clear and use the scouting knowledge we have allegedly employed in Newman to find a younger player with his best years ahead of him rather than behind him.

I’m sorry to break this to you, but I’d say 90% of players, including our current playing squad, would see us as plan B when it comes between playing for us or Manchester United.

Sorry, but I'm not sure where all this comes from.

Badly tailed off? He didn't, he just didn't carry on the elite like numbers he was producing. This was a player who had gone from not playing to playing almost twice a week. It was also during a time we didn't have Antonio/Rice etc and in general didn't look as good. I think badly tailing off is harsh. He had a couple of below par games, otherwise was involved in most of our good stuff. The numbers he produced overall here were fantastic.

Thinking he was bigger than the club? Not sure where that came from. He seemed to be happy and fit in. At no point did we see any signs of a bad attitude or being big headed at all. The thinking we are 2nd choice thing? He plays for Man Utd, the club he loves. He went back there in good form with the manager telling him they wanted to keep him and refusing to sell him to us.

Lazy at times in games? Nope. When we played Chelsea at home and were struggling, the only times we got close to doing anything was from Lingard. They had to keep fouling him, s***ty fouls aswell, to stop him hurting them. He was working his socks off. There were a couple of other games where he wasn't brilliant, as noted above, but that doesn't mean he was being lazy. Having a bad game can just mean having a bad game.

If you don't want him signed, then fine, but your reasons seem to be a bit OTT.

We were Declan's PLAN B. Is that not alright now?

Effectively Lingard has been let go too. Certainly been let down, so not different at all from his pov.

Not sure that being asked by OGS to sign a new contract is being let go

I don't want to worry you without cause but you realise the vast majority of our squad are only here because we were the best option available at the time we signed them and not because DEMBA BA LOVE WEST HAM?
