Saw these last night at the Cliffs in Southend, thoroughly enjoyable and great to see both Paul Jones and Mike D'Abo sharing the limelight.

Sadly, Georgie Fame was unable to appear due to ill health, not sure the extent of his condition though but didn't sound great. The Manfreds did an extended set to cover the gap.

Me neither
Jesus ****ing Christ, how awful was that? On the plus side, next time the ever fragrant Mrs Monkeybubbles says "I've got tickets, I think you'll like it....." I can remind her of this and tell her to poke her shitty tickets.

Just came back from seeing Discharge in a tiny venue - I wasn’t expecting much, and it was actually ****ing great - any band that can put out The Blood Runs Red, Hear Nothing… and The Nightmare Continues as a set opener is a winner for me.

Britpop legends Shed Seven in Liverpool tonight. I never saw them properly live. Just supporting or at a festival.

The last gig I went to was The Courteeners at Brixton Academy. Roberto Mancini’s City had lost at Everton that lunchtime and I got the train back from Liverpool. It’s been that long.

Stereophonics - Just Enough Education to Perform 20th anniversary tour tomorrow night in Edinburgh. Playing the whole album and then a long enough encore of some other songs. Only sorted the trip out at 5pm yesterday so a nice surprise to have a good weekend, should be good.

Starting the afternoon off by going to Hibs v Motherwell so that should be good too!

Saw them before the lockdowns in Tonbridge Wells in a small venue and they were superb. Loud as hell and really full-on. Loved it :bump:

Just got back from seeing (what's left of) The Stranglers for the umpteenth time. They were really on form. Excellent, even. Maybe their last ever tour.... It brings me full circle, as my first ever gig was The Stranglers at the Dominion, Tottenham Court Road in early 1985.

Please pass on to Joel that he did a great job, IMO his voice probably fits their songs better than Neil and we really enjoyed the show. :newthumb:

Just seen From The Jam in Brighton.

I’m not big on tribute bands, which despite Foxton, they are, but what an array of songs!

Weller’s lyrics are a crossover of football and music for me. That’s Entertainment, To Be Someone, Going Underground, Tube Station etc.

Then Eton Rifles pops up and could’ve been written yesterday- ‘I prefer the plague/to the Eton Rifles’.

40th anniversary of Sound Effects and Tibllisi in the ECWC.

Shed Seven last night at The Roundhouse.

What a gig. First time I'd ever seen them. Possibly one of the best venues around too.
