Got Covid. Shame as we could do with him in the next few weeks

Assume he won’t be back for Thursday which is a shame given Soucek definitely needs a rest, especially after that stamp on his face which looked brutal.

Damn that’s tough luck just as we have an intense run of games coming, and Soucek has got injured.

Mind you, Tomas is made of kryptonite. I think Nobes for Genk, Tomas back against Spuds.

Hope so anyway.

It wpuld have been nice to rest both Soucek and Rice againts Genk.

No disrespect to genk , but players no matter what they say lose 10% on a sunday after playing on a Thursday

Luckily though Spuds are in the same position

Sorry if this has been mentioned before but has Kral played in defence at some point?

Is there a possibility we could do a Riceverse* on his position?

* - that's an extremely clever play on words. Reverse what Rice did. 99% of people wouldn't get it :coolas:

Played CB for most of the 18/19 season for FK Teplice but has only played (started) in that position once since by the look of his stats. That was for Sparta and they lost that game 4-1.

Nothing to suggest he'd be any better than Dawson or Diop to be honest.

With new investment and the huge blow of losing Ogbonna (potentially career ending), I can quite easily see us agreeing a deal for Tarkowski in Jan.

Circa £25m to bring in him and Lingard is decent business when you consider what we paid for Vlasic.

Agreed and is probably one of the reasons Moyes isn’t giving him much game time. The same was true of Benny who had to up his work rate and in particular his tracking back

I think there is something there, but if you like, it's like a lazy school kid, who doesn't apply himself. The teacher has to extract it out of him. The same can be said of any work colleague who just let's others do the work, but this means others have to work harder to compensate

If Kral doesn’t start against Rapid Wien surely he won’t be sticking around for next season. I wasn’t expecting him to be a regular starter as I’ve seen long enough how Moyes operates. But even by Moyes’ standards it’s amazing what little minutes we’ve given to Kral so far this season, in the cup competitions especially.

He has had COVID, remember, but your point is still valid.

I know he has. But it’s not like he wasn’t available in other cup games before and after COVID.

Please remember that "after" covid you don't just magically recover. Can suffer long term and these are professional footballers not average Joe recovering to sit at a desk. Fitness can take time

Diop had covid , lost his place and never got it back as Dawson became undroppable
