Other Games November 20-25

Post by Shabu » Thu Nov 18, 2021 7:22 pm

Couple of biggish games in the league this weekend with hot & cold Leicester hosting league leaders Chelsea in the early game while LiverweearestillwhingingbecausewelosttoWestHampool play Arsenal at home. Arsenal currently have the longest unbeaten streak in the league.

Even with a bad result it's highly unlikely we'll drop out of the top four this weekend whereas a good weekend of results could see us joint top

Saturday
Leicester City 12:30 Chelsea
Aston Villa 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion
Burnley 15:00 Crystal Palace
Newcastle United 15:00 Brentford
Norwich City 15:00 Southampton
Watford 15:00 Manchester United
Wolverhampton Wanderers 15:00 West Ham United
Liverpool 17:30 Arsenal
Sunday
Manchester City 14:00 Everton
Tottenham Hotspur 16:30 Leeds United

Meanwhile it's the penultimate round of games in the Champions League & a massive game for Man Utd. Lose at Villareal & they could drop down to 3rd in their group. Ditto for Barcelona if they lose again to Benfica.

Meanwhile we can cement top spot in the Europa League with a win against Vienna or Zagreb failing to beat Genk (unless we lose both games by a heavy margin.

For Newcastle, this weekend is a biggie.

Winnable game and Watford are playing Man United, so they could beat Brentford and finally start to look upwards at these clubs and one or two others.

Lose to them - especially heavily - won't be the last nail in the coffin, but it won't be the first either!

Saturday

Leicester City 12:30 Chelsea - probably a narrow Chelsea win, but not a banker
Aston Villa 15:00 Brighton & Hove Albion - A draw
Burnley 15:00 Crystal Palace A draw
Newcastle United 15:00 Brentford Newcastle win.
Norwich City 15:00 Southampton Away win
Watford 15:00 Manchester United Away win
Wolverhampton Wanderers 15:00 West Ham United no comment
Liverpool 17:30 Arsenal Home win

Sunday

Manchester City 14:00 Everton Home win
Tottenham Hotspur 16:30 Leeds United Strange feeling that Leeds might turn up and get something

Just realised not only do Arsenal have the longest unbeaten streak in the league but also Liverpool have the shortest

Doubt De Bruyne will be back against us if he's not in team training for the next 10 days.

And this weekend's fixtures promise a lot of away wins.

Thomas Tuchel talking about Conor Gallagher. Too much information?

‘As a team-mate I would have loved to have played with him because he’s a helper, he starts on minute one and he finishes maybe in the shower. That is the earliest moment when he stops running and stealing balls!’

Bayern Munich lost 2-1 away to lowly Augsburg tonight, whose team includes the recently firmly-established centre back Reece Oxford. He had a decent game. The result opens things up again at the top of the Bundesliga.

Been a while since I’ve seen a game with draw written all over it as much as Burnley v Crystal Palace.

With 50% of their combined games ending in draws I can see why you think this but Palace have been looking good lately. They beat a Citeh that hadn't lost in 8 Premier League games (away) & then beat a Wolves that hadn't lost in 6. Both without conceding a goal. Their tails will be well up.

Newcastle Vs Brentford is huge and feels like a bit of a relegation six-pointer already.

Whichever team loses will be in big, big trouble this season.

As its the first sign of weakness, I am hearing that he's been sentenced only to 20 lashes.

The beheading sentence was suspended.

I think Brentford will just about have enough. And I reckon it’s a matter of time before Toney gets going, looks made for the league.

They have a tonne of injuries which is why they've had a few bad results. I dont think anyone is back yet.

Lukaku still out and Havertz starting up top against Leicester.

I think Chelsea might come a cropper today.

Just watching the Leicester vs Chelsea build up.

Rio Ferdinand on Solskjaer…

“Rio you’re in a minority of one in former players asking for OGS to be sacked, why do you think that is?”

“Don’t know, everyone’s different”

“Well who do you think should replace him?”

“I don’t know, if I knew that I’d be doing the job” - what job Rio?

“I’ll say what I like and I’m confident in my opinion”

He really is a helmet.

They'd be in even greater bother if it were that helmet, Werner playing up top on his own
