Rio talking rubbish on BT sports again. I bet he'd love the call for interim manager.
Tactical genius is our Rio.
Apparently if you shout loudly on the field of play. It switches players on.
That is his magic nugget of advice
Now as the vast majority of us know Rio is one huge flacid cock piece, but I'm a little old school and I like shouty players/managers as in my experience it does get more out of players if shouting the "right way/words".

I think that’s a fair point, there does need to be some sort of fear factor for the players. As much of a twat Rio is he’s right when he says part of the problem at Man U was that the players knew they could part in sub par performances without any real repercussions from Ole.

Ole is a bit like Zola, they’re too nice.

I get your point, unless of course its Jordan Pickford who just seems to blame everyone else for his own mistakes by shouting at them.

Shouting. When Stadiums were full, you needed to shout/wave like a maniac, if you couldn't grab a player when the ball was out of play.

The managers who have won most, in the last few years are probably Guardiola, Klopp, Zidane and Simeone. Some of them are animated, some of them love to perform in front of the cameras. All of them talk to their players during games, one way or another. Ole Gunnar did it as well, in a Zidane like fashion.

I know what you mean - "nice" here meaning a bit too polite/timid/whatever.

And yet, OGS and his relationship to the Babacar Sarr rape allegations is about as odious as anything I've ever seen in football. Properly swept under the carpet too - doesn't suit the narrative - to the extent I was only reminded of it again this week as he's on his way out of Man Utd/Premier League.

A manager who managed to actually detract from the collective performance of the sum total of highly talented parts isn't going to last.

A common goalkeeper trick. My dad always said that whenever he conceded a goal he found someone to blame whether it was their fault or not! Takes the pressure off and stops your head dropping. Confidence is so important in goal.

None of the above makes Pickford any less of an ****hole though.

I suppose there is a fine line between commanding your box and just being a gobby twat, but yes, I get the confidence thing. I also felt with some of our keepers over the years, that they were not confident in their back line and the back line wasn't confident with their keeper. Hence why we were so shyte.

Which Pickford, there are two, the worlds best keeper who plays for England, or the bang average guy at Everton?

There was always a bloke in any team I ever played for that was shouting at everyone else telling them what they were doing wrong and how to do it etc....

The problem was he was always the worst player in the team making all the mistakes yet he always got picked to play.

Anyone recall them blokes

…… to be fair, I always arrived early, and sorted the dirty kit after the game as well.

I've never seen a goalkeeper look so angry to have to touch the ball.
