Would you start him in the Zagreb dead rubber?

I’d play the U23s as an apology for letting them down thru poor management.

That’s actually a damn good idea. Tell them it’s a free hit, don’t worry about the result, just enjoy yourselves 👍

I wouldn't go that far, wouldn't want to risk another Nottingham Forest.

Areola
Johnson Baptiste Dawson Masuaku
Kral Noble
Yarmolenko Chesters Vlasic
Perkins

Would be preferable.

Think the problem with this is, there are a lot of people that have bought tickets for this match, especially parents with children that are expecting to see a few first teamers.
This game isn't cheap to watch is it?

Mark Noble has played alongside Teddy Sheringham (born in 1966) and Sonny Perkins (born in 2004) for us.

Not sure that’s a great idea, they could end up losing quite badly.

I’d start a couple of them, maybe three at most. The last thing you want is for them to get embarrassed in front of 60,000 fans in the biggest game of their lives so far.

I understand what you are saying - I think depending on where you sit but my ticket for all the European games (so far) was about £60 but even as a youngster I was always interested in seeing the future West Ham players coming through. But as you say some might feel they are entitled to see the first team. I think that it would be really sad though if any of those senior players got injured in a nothing game.

He sounds good like Sonny Anderson, Sonny Liston, the kids gonna be the next Carlton Cole, mark my words.

Noble, Vlasic, Kral and Areola are the only squad players that should start against Zagreb. Happy for the kids to get a run out....We have 9 games in December for god sake, theres no point risking players in what is a dead rubber for us.

Personally I'd enjoy watching the possible future stars against Zagreb than risk first teamers, let's give the academy a time to shine.

Woah, the kid had a good cameo against a poor Vienna side. let's not build him up just yet. Comments like 'real deal' etc, are very premature. Give the boy a chance to settle and get a few games under his belt before we make these definitive statements, rather than build him up to fall after a 15 minute cameo.

We've been here before, over and over again. It was a good little run out, but let's not get carried away just yet.

Looked decent in the cameo, but I can't really say it was enough for me to really work out what kind of striker he is or how he'd fare in the first team as a starter. Promising though. I would put our 3 most promising young players in the team for the Zagreb game to see how they handle it. No more than that though. Considering our shortage of strikers at the moment, I guess Perkins should be one of them - and it'd be good to give Bowen a break.

Fair enough, but compare Perkins debut to Odubeko's.

He has something, all depends if it can now be nurtured.

Yes, fair play, it’s not going to happen, nor should it.

Excellent limited time debut, considering he's only 17 as well, gutted he didn't score, would have been fairytale stuff. Let's hope he has a great future with us 👍
