West Ham looking to sign Anderlechtís Teodorczyk to reinforce front line Filed: Friday, 6th October 2017 Author: Staff Writer #3
While it still may be the first half of the Premier League and teams are still trying to get their players on top form, they are always looking for new signings to strengthen the squad that are already in place.
And one of the teams that are currently looking at an interesting move is West Ham.
With a view to reinforcing their front line, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic is said to be interested in signing a new attacker when the transfer window opens again in January.
Heíll no doubt know though that the competition to sign new talent will be fierce. You just have to look at how excited fans get and the bets placed with football bookmakers, where rumours are rife of what teams are looking for.
West Ham United already have good forwards including Marko Arnautovic and Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez. The problem that Billic has right now is that the goals arenít coming, and that is not good for gaining a good position on the Premier League table.
This is why his eyes are drifting to the possible talent he can sign in January.
The rumours surrounding West Ham right now are that Bilic has his eyes on Lukas Teodorczyk, who is currently playing for Belgian side Anderlecht. At 25, this Polish striker has already managed to score 30 goals in 53 games, which is what has caught the eye of many teams.
Bilicís problem however is going to be that a few notable teams in the UK are already eyeing the forward for a possible move to them.
One of these teams is Liverpool, and while Jurgen Kloppís teams havenít had any problems scoring this year, injuries are still a risk to their reliability. Two examples of this are Daniel Sturridge, and Roberto Firmino who while they can provide the goals, do lack some of the reliability that Klopp needs.
When looking at the move, another question would be if Teodorczyk's current team, Anderlecht are willing to let him go.
The huge profit that they are likely to make on the player hints that the team may just be ready to do that. The level of interest that is being shown by so many teams is likely to have them forming plans for what they will do with the money they are bound to make.
So, will West Ham United get lucky and manage to entice Teodorczyk to east London? It may depend on the form of West Ham itself. Liverpool are doing well, but for a few of their previous games, and may arguably be a more notable club.
With interest from other teams not in the UK too, it seems that West Ham may be in for a fight if they are to get the player they want in January, and may need deep pockets if they are to fend off the other competitors.
