More than half of the supporters to respond to a KUMB Poll believe that Mark Noble was wrong to lunge at a West Ham fan that invaded the pitch on Saturday.

52 per cent of readers who responded to a Forum poll believe that the club captain was wrong to confront the supporter, who he threw to the ground after the fan had run onto the pitch following Burnley's opening goal on Satruday.

However more than a third of respondents - 34 per cent - backed Noble's decision to challenge the pitch invader, with the remaining 14 per cent unable to decide whether the midfielder was right or wrong.

"I think he just lost it," said Forum member Dwight1970. "Given the circumstances and the desire to get back into the game it was possibly understandable, but it was the wrong reaction in my opinion."

"I don't believe he was ever under threat or felt under threat, I think it was pure frustration on his part," added Hessa. "Nobes knows West Ham more than anyone and I believe that it must be breaking his heart as much as all of ours - but for me he was wrong, he should have left the bloke alone."

And OFT added: "I thought it was a 'red mist' moment from Nobes that he possibly regrets. It was out of order from Mark and in stark contrast to how I saw Ginge deal with the lad with the corner flag."

However Forum member Jedi Al Khalaas argued that Noble's conduct should not be in question - especially given Saturday's extraordinary circumstances. "I dont think we should be questioning him based on anything that happened today," he concluded. "He has done enough to earn our respect."
