West Ham summer transfer target Maxi Gomez says that he is happy at Celta Vigo - but admits that he doesn't know where he'll be playing football next season.

United's attempts to sign the 22-year-old back in January failed when Vigo insisted that he will remain at the La Liga club until the end of the current season.

However Gomez is uncertain whether he has a future in Spain - regardless of whether Célticos, who are currently two points clear of the relegation zone, retain their top flight status at the end of the current season.

"I do not know if I'm going or I'm staying," he told El Desmarque. "But helping the team is fundamental - I am very happy here and hopefully I can continue contributing.

"I am still at Celta and I hope it continues like this. There have been many transfer rumours coming out recently, but I do not look at those things."

Barcelona, Atletico and Dortmund are just three of the clubs West Ham are likely to be fighting against this summer to secure the young Uruguay international's signature.

Currently valued around the £40million mark, Gomez's feee could set to drop dramatically should his current club suffer relegation at the end of the current campaign - which is likely to result in even more clubs vying with the Hammers for his signature.
